The work will pay off. When you start putting it together, it will go fast, since all the cutting is done. I will be looking for it to be finished. My granddaughter who just turned 7 loves to play in bins like this and so do I.

oh how funny!! you are keeping them in a cooler

On Thursdays & Fridays, our Good Will has $1 day, the "color of the week" is $1.00 - that is the section I always go to first. I look at the shirts/skirts/dresses just for the fabric - $1 is a great deal :)

The quilt is coming together a lot faster then I thought it would. All of the replies are giving me more encouragement to continue. It is starting to look great.

what fun colors and designs

Scrappy and Patchwork are my favorites. I have made several structured quilts, that ended up to be so very boring that by the time I finished the quilts, didn't like them. So I stick to just doing patchy, scrappy quilts and am much happier than having to cut zillions of same color, squares/triangles and then put them together....ugh... just my personal preference. I do love to see the structured quilts tho....that others have done. I feel this quilt will be just "yummy"...

I absolutely LOVE scrappies, especially backed with unbleached muslin. You will have a ball putting yours together. Please share you finished quilt. Thanks for sharing.

I just got a new book "Scrap-Basket Sensations" by Kim Brackett from Joann's during their latest sale. Patterns for 2 1/2" strips, several patterns. Includes yardage & scrap cutting directions.

You are after my own heart! Love love love scrappy quilts! And I love all the comments here about buying items at a thrift store for the fabric. What a great great idea! My DH just will not believe that I want him to go to the thrift store with me for fabric. I can see the puzzled look on his face right now! But sweet man that he is, he will go! Anyway ... glad it is coming along quickly. We need a pic now ... and then later!
