A while back I asked for opinions on my Pheasant quilt project. Almost done with the top. And now I see a design flaw with the top center placement. Do I leave it or redo it?

Kehoeta 02-18-2011 07:42 AM

Leave it

amma 02-18-2011 07:43 AM

Does it bother you? If it does I would fix it :D:D:D

sidmona 02-18-2011 07:43 AM

If it really bothers you, I think I would fix it.

leatheflea 02-18-2011 07:44 AM

All depends on how bad it will bother you. I'd leave it. It looks like a fairly simple fix,.

CloverPatch 02-18-2011 07:45 AM

oh, I see it.
If it was me. It would drive me nuts to look at it. I would have to fix it.
But your going to be the only ones who knows its not supposed to be that way.

Cherylsea 02-18-2011 07:48 AM

If you hadn't said there was a problem I don't think I would have seen it!

julia58 02-18-2011 07:49 AM

If it were me, i'd fix it. But if you can live with it, live with it. It is a lovely quilt.

Ritzquilts 02-18-2011 07:49 AM

Looks alike a simple fix, I would re do it, but then again that is just me.

quiltinggrandmaca 02-18-2011 07:51 AM

I think I would redo it as well. It would bug me to no end so I wouldn't be able to leave it, but that is entirely up to you, if it is something you can live with then leave it.

leave it.

kathymarie 02-18-2011 07:51 AM

Ten years ago I would have said "rip it out"...but I've learned life is too short for such tediousness. Even with a trained eye if you hadn't said something it would have gone unnoticed. If it bothers YOU then change it...if it just bothers other readers, leave it....that way you'll get more time to work on something else or finish this one.

Lindsey 02-18-2011 07:52 AM

I would fix it too.

PurplePassion 02-18-2011 07:54 AM

Well the thing is --this quilt is for an auction for the Pheasants Forever Benefit. It will be seen by hundreds. So it isn't for me.

alderdweller 02-18-2011 07:57 AM

If it were someone else's I'd say leave it...if it were mine, it'd drive me nuts...lol
It really is beautiful as is. I seem to ALWAYS have something screwy to fix on mine too.

PaperPrincess 02-18-2011 09:04 AM

It looks like a fairly easy fix (especially since I'm not doing it ;-0 ) I would fix it.

PurplePassion 02-18-2011 09:25 AM

I'm ripping them out now ,to fix them. It's amazing how you don't see them til you put up a picture .

You have spent a lot of time on this beautiful quilt, just a little more time will fix that one small place. You'll probably feel better to have done that since it will be seen by so many. Hope you raise a lot of money, the quilt deserves it.
Just saw your post that you are fixing it. Good move.

BizzieLizzie 02-18-2011 09:34 AM

I would fix it if it bothered me and if it was important enough.

deema 02-18-2011 09:37 AM

*I* would leave it. I noticed a flaw with one I made a while back...I noticed it before I even sewed it together. It would have been an easy fix, but the truth is, I don't care that much. Might sound bad, but I have no interest in being perfect. The exception would be if this were a customer quilt. I will absolutely fix a flaw in a quilt someone is paying me for, assuming I notice it before quilting. If I don't...? Then I'll just hope they don't either, because unless the quilting is really screwed up, I'm *not* ripping out quilting stitches.

dar627742 02-18-2011 09:44 AM

as hard as it was to find,i'd leave it,but then i'm not a "top"quilter.
i think your quilt is wonderful, dar

My thoughts too

belmer 02-18-2011 10:43 AM

Even if it bothered me..... I'd still leave it, probably no one else would notice it but you! I think it looks fabulous!

debbieumphress 02-18-2011 10:47 AM

I would leave it. My favorite saying is "There is only one perfect person in this world". I tell people, if they notice it, I want my quilts to be unique so I sneak in an error. Works for me. LOl I would not have seen it if you haven't pointed it out but I look at the whole beauty and don't look for errors. Love, love it. NO quilt police in my house.

SuzanneG 02-18-2011 10:53 AM

Personally, I would fix it. Though some have said they wouldn't have noticed had you not pointed it out, I saw it before I even read your post. I think your quilt is absolutely beautiful and it would be a shame not to have it exactly as you want it. (It doesn't really matter what anyone else would think of it the way it is right now though, it's how YOU feel about it that matters.) I've been there, believe me! lol I had to rip out and redo one of my quilts a couple of years ago and in the end, it was well worth the extra effort. :D

AnnieH 02-18-2011 10:58 AM

Well done. You will feel so much better now.

sewwhat85 02-18-2011 11:09 AM

i love the quilt only fix it if it will bother you everytime you look at it

In that case, I would fix it........... :?

Kimkankwilt 02-18-2011 11:33 AM

If it were me, I would fix it.

DebbyT 02-18-2011 11:41 AM

I have this panel. Thanks for sharing.

malega 02-18-2011 11:47 AM

Just leave it, it looks very nice.

fabric_fancy 02-18-2011 11:48 AM

i would have to fix it, since it isn't quilted yet.

but i'm OCD that way, it would just drive me crazy every time i looked at it.

SueDor 02-18-2011 02:37 PM

Since its not finished I would fix it. You know that will bother you everyday. I made a I-spy quilt, and one of the pictures was upside down, I had to fix it. It was for a child who wouldn't have even noticed, but I noticed.

survivor 02-18-2011 03:01 PM

no one will know it is placed wrong except you.
Beautiful quilt. If it bothers you then redo.

CoriAmD 02-18-2011 03:02 PM

Leave it, I don't even see the flaw

Jan T 02-18-2011 06:04 PM

Leave it and keep your lips sealed. Nice quilt BTW

justlooking 02-19-2011 04:27 AM

If you won't have said anything, I would have not seen it. It really is up to you, it's your quilt!

By the way it is beautiful.

bjrusty 02-19-2011 05:11 AM

such a pretty quilt, if it was mine I'd have to fix it.If it's not quilted, wouldn't be to hard to fix. Barb

Jagsd3 02-19-2011 05:37 AM

If it were me, I would definetly fix it, otherwise it would just continue to bug me.

2manyprojects 02-19-2011 06:01 AM

an old amish woman once told me, Always leave a flaw, it shows us that God is the only perfect one
