Which of these three do you like best and why? I already have one in mind but just wanted some other opinions.

Option #1

Option #2

Option 1...but I like very "busy" I think it looks more inviting than the others (I am not a minimalist).

sharon b 05-13-2010 10:29 PM

I like #1 the best

#2 looks like its not finished with the big border on the outside

#3 I just don't like the switching to a seperate 4 patch floating on the border

but remember this is just one opinion

pattral 05-13-2010 10:29 PM

If I had to make a choice I would pick Option 2, but how do you decide when they all look great.

kwiltkrazy 05-13-2010 11:44 PM

I like #1 the best, because the other two look like you're just trying to make it larger.

I like #1. With the other 2 there is lots of plain space, and heck, if you're gonna make a beautiful quilt, why not go all out???? :)

Number 1 for me - it tracks the eye well

KiwiQuilter 05-14-2010 12:33 AM

I like #1 - It looks like it has a good sense of "balance" to it.

I like #1, but the other 2 leaves room for some interesting quilting designs.

Of those three options, I prefer #1.

#2, too much white border.

#3, not crazy about the 4 patch, it competes with the center squares.

However, this is just in answer to your question. I really want to hear what you've decided.

katier825 05-14-2010 01:19 AM

I like #1, it looks more balanced to me. :)

I like 1 for the same reason. Number 2 does not look finished with the white, it is just too wide and plain.

Number 3, with nothing between the 4 patch, it also looks plain and unfinished.

Number 1 is perfect!

#1 more color!!!

Minnesewta-sam 05-14-2010 02:18 AM

My pick is #1 also. Thanks for sharing.

LeslieSkelly 05-14-2010 02:26 AM

I vote for #1

Rebecca VLQ 05-14-2010 02:54 AM

#1. I'd choose #2 perhaps if it had a darker border.

:D

I like #2 because I like a quilt that is easy to tell the length from the width. I don't agree that it just looks like you are trying to make it larger, especially if the quilting on the border is prominent. Fancy quilting will show up more on the plain border.

Borntohandquilt 05-14-2010 03:51 AM

I like #1, but #2 has more space for a fancy quilting design in the border. Would be very important for me!

dsb38327 05-14-2010 04:06 AM

#1.

raptureready 05-14-2010 04:16 AM

#1 says "I'm a quilt"
#2 says "She's still learning"
3# says "Hey, it was an experiment" it would be my second choice though. But, it's just my opinion and the quilt is yours. Print out the pictures, hang them up on your design board or fridge and see which one your eye is drawn to.

#1 The others have too much white for my tastes.

stitchinwitch 05-14-2010 04:23 AM

In order

1
2
not even 3!

LoisN 05-14-2010 04:29 AM

I love #3. I like the 4 squares in the border. I think it makes the center pop.

clem55 05-14-2010 04:32 AM

I like three, it makes me think of a picture frame sdurrounding a pretty picture.

sewcrafty 05-14-2010 04:35 AM

#1. Maybe #2 with a different border.

Yarn or Fabric 05-14-2010 04:37 AM

I like option 1 the best - the others have too much white in the borders - they look like afterthoughts.
Option 1 is perfect imho
