Any opinions on which way to combine these panels?
1. all color panels randomly joined
2. all diamonds of the same colors
3. combination of one half of each diamond one color in
upper portion and another color in lower portion

I plan to 'float' finished top with a row of black around the whole quilt, then maybe a border of color, then black and finished with black binding.

whole diamonds in one color (except pink & yellow goof on the left side!)

awwww, I have no idea what you are talking about, I am so in awe of the colors and your work. Gosh I loose track of what I'm doing if I put chewing gum in my mouth. This is so beautiful !

Blessings,
Ruth

I think it's so colorful that any combination you pick will work!

I like the first picture.

jayelee 11-19-2010 02:26 PM

I love the second picture the best But anyway would be great You are doing a wonderful job I like your idea of finishing it with the black border and then a color one and another black with binding or maybe you could make the binding up of the different colors

Personally, I like the top and bottom pics best - don't really care for the middle arrangement. But I just love the bright colors and how they pop against the black. It's going to be lovely no matter how you put it together.

oh - another question for experienced quilters:
does anyone know if I could get rid of the thread pieces all over both sides by putting the pieces into the dryer on "air fluff" setting (no heat)? Sounds quicker than trying to remove them with a lint roller but I sure don't want to risk having to re-press all those pieces before finally sewing them all together (once I've weighed your "votes" on the arrangements, that is!).
Thanks so much, everyone; you're such a God-send for this newbie.

#1 sure plays the colors off each other. beautiful !

SuziC 11-19-2010 02:50 PM

I like the top one, but any combo you chose will be great. Love the COLORS :!:

Flugiepoo 11-19-2010 02:51 PM

All three are winners and can't even come close to picking the one I like best....sorry they are all soooooo beautiful and that's my kind of quilt - with lots of brillant color...Good work and keep it up....

maggie2122 11-19-2010 02:51 PM

I think anyway you put it together it's going to be gorgeous! I just love the colors against the black background. Great job!

Lori Peercy 11-19-2010 02:56 PM

I like the third one best but all are beautiful! Love it on the black

quiltlonger 11-19-2010 03:09 PM

I like them all But LOVE number 2 with them being random --looks more difficult-- and makes your eyes roam more!!

Antdebby1 11-19-2010 03:12 PM

Beautiful! I'm really drawn to #1, but I'll like whatever you do.

Kappy 11-19-2010 03:16 PM

Not that I am an experienced quilter, but I like #1. It speaks to me..actually, I think it's saying, "send it to me, send it to me" LOL

CoyoteQuilts 11-19-2010 03:16 PM

I like one and three. And a WOW goes out for this beautiful quilt!

CarrieAnne 11-19-2010 03:18 PM

All of them are pretty, but I love 1!

eparys 11-19-2010 03:19 PM

Very Nice - I really like the random best then the 2-color diamonds. But in all honesty all of them are beautiful.

sewbigd2858 11-19-2010 03:20 PM

I like Them all SO BEAUIFUL

Ditter43 11-19-2010 03:21 PM

I like the second picture the most!! Beautiful color combinations! :D

Ginaky 11-19-2010 03:22 PM

I like the first one, the way it seems to just flow from one to the other. Very pleasing to the eye.

KiwiQuilter 11-19-2010 03:23 PM

It's a toss up between 1 and 2 for me. I prefer the #1 the best.

All would work out fine.

amma 11-19-2010 03:24 PM

Ooooo gorgeous!!!!! I really like the 3rd option :D:D:D

Kitsapquilter 11-19-2010 03:25 PM

The second picture seems to catch my eye the quickest. Seems like seeing more pink through the center makes it pop more. I don't see that in the first one.
Beautiful colors and they work so nicely together.

CoyoteQuilts 11-19-2010 03:29 PM

I like one and three. And a WOW goes out for this beautiful quilt!

Gatormom3 11-19-2010 03:31 PM

I like your first picture best but all are beautiful!

kajaza 11-19-2010 03:33 PM

I love all of them!! No matter what you decide it will be beautiful :D

Dollysquiltingmom 11-19-2010 03:34 PM

I like #1 but all of them are great.

bearisgray 11-19-2010 03:37 PM

I would use the lint roller instead of the dryer to pick up those little loose threads.

That way you can also see if there are any loose seams or anything that needs touching up - although there probably is nothing that will need it.

Miss Ice 11-19-2010 03:39 PM

I like random color mix #2

DebraK 11-19-2010 03:48 PM

first one.

Lilrain 11-19-2010 03:49 PM

I love the second layout

craftyone27 11-19-2010 03:50 PM

The 1st layout gets my vote!! What a vibrant quilt!!!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 11-19-2010 03:52 PM

That is one awesome quilt! I love them all, but if I were picking I'd say #3 strikes me. It really won't matter. You can't go wrong.

Dragonfly Nana 11-19-2010 03:53 PM

PPM...what a stunning quilt!
I like the first layout best, but as so many other have said, I don't think you could go wrong with any arrangement.

NorBanaquilts 11-19-2010 03:56 PM

I like #3

Farmer Girl 11-19-2010 03:57 PM

All three are equally beautiful, but I like the random look overall. Nice work, can't wait to see it finished.

deema 11-19-2010 03:58 PM

Any way is beautiful, but the first one stands out to me. Stunning colour choices!!

bjchad 11-19-2010 04:04 PM

Personally I was drawn to #2. But as others say any one of these would result in a beautiful quilt. The colors really pop against the black and make the pattern of diamonds very dramatic.

PegD 11-19-2010 04:13 PM

It IS absolutely beautiful. I vote for #1.
