What do you do when you are already quilting a wallhanging and you notice that a tip of the top of your leaf didn't get sewn into the seam allowance? It was too late to go back and fix the boo boo without making a mess so .......I added a tiny needle tatted butterfly.

wuv2quilt 01-26-2013 02:45 PM

What you did. Looks good....an no one need ever know...unless you point it out

Great job on the wall hanging. That was a great idea with the butterfly. Tatting is a lost art. You are fortunate you learned that one!

Justquilting 01-26-2013 02:46 PM

Love your wall hanging..I would have done the same thing! Very smart!

mindless 01-26-2013 02:47 PM

that's SO clever! & it looks great! Oops is my all time favorite 4-letter word. :D

GagaSmith 01-26-2013 02:48 PM

Good thinking. Looks like it belongs there. Love the wallhanging.

patsynel 01-26-2013 02:49 PM

Love it, what a good idea.

KwiltyKahy 01-26-2013 02:55 PM

See, not an oops, now it's a design element.

Debbie B 01-26-2013 02:58 PM

Makes it even better...very pretty!

JulieR 01-26-2013 03:03 PM

Perfect! I just looks like a planned detail.

Quiltngolfer 01-26-2013 03:04 PM

Great thinking! It's beautiful.

AlienQuilter 01-26-2013 03:27 PM

Looks intentional to me, especially the way you quilted it. It's beautiful!

On a small pillow, I had 4 blocks and tried unsuccessfully 3 times to make them match up in the center. Stopped before I wore the fabric out and slapped a appliqued rose on top. Everybody loved the flower in the center!

leatheflea 01-26-2013 03:28 PM

Very creative! No one will ever know but us!

barny 01-26-2013 03:29 PM

I love it. Just did the right thing. A very pretty wall hanging. You are very creative.

Jingle 01-26-2013 04:32 PM

Such a perfect addition. I think a few more would liven the wall hanging up and add a very nice touch. You are so creative.

maryb119 01-26-2013 04:34 PM

There are never mistakes in quilting...only creative adjustments. You made a great one!

owlvamp 01-26-2013 04:34 PM

Beautiful and I like the butterfly too. I am the same way when I find a mistake. Oh well just do something else to fix it.

Helen S 01-26-2013 04:59 PM

Oh, I think that fix is PERFECT! lol

Sorry, this was a UFO I was finishing and I don't have the pattern.

ladypetite 01-26-2013 05:31 PM

Definitely an original!! Very clever.

bjeriann 01-26-2013 05:42 PM

Don't you hate when that happens. Love the butterfly.

Tweety2911 01-26-2013 05:45 PM

Nice wall hanging and nice save!

busy fingers 01-26-2013 10:53 PM

A nice touch . No one will know and think that is just so pretty.

earthwalker 01-26-2013 10:56 PM

Handy little creatures these butterflies:). Looks great, clever fix.

ludlowquiltandsew 01-26-2013 11:06 PM

What a clever way of hiding something. Don't forget that quilters don't make mistakes - they just add extra design features!

Quiltchen 01-26-2013 11:10 PM

very pretty!

blueangel 01-27-2013 04:58 AM

I love it...

Quiltaddiction 01-27-2013 05:02 AM

Creativity at its best and it looks so cool.

Lstew2212 01-27-2013 05:04 AM

Great idea, I am going to have to remember this next time.

Sewfine 01-27-2013 05:07 AM

Very pretty. That is so neat. When I make a boo boo that is to painstacking to go back and repair, I applique over it.

Cacklinghen 01-27-2013 05:13 AM

My grandaughter loves butterflys...she would fall in love with this quilt--she absolutely loves flowers and butterflys!
Beautiful!

nabobw 01-27-2013 05:26 AM

gabeway 01-27-2013 07:37 AM
