Sorry ladies each of us will end up with less blocks. Some ladies failed to to come through. I do not have enough time to make every missing block. Hope everyone understands :D :D

Why on earth would we expect YOU to make up for the missing blocks??? I certainly wouldn't ...it is enough that you were kind enough to organize the swap and follow through with it for this long. Thanks for that Bebe! I'll be very happy with whatever I get....afterall, it was lots of fun and I learned quite a bit!! :D

I agree - just return the unclaimed blocks in our package. It is the risk one takes with any swap. I'll just be happy, happy, happy with the blocks I do get. It was fun making them & will be sooooooooooo much fun getting them!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I was greatful that all the different types of blocks got me out of my comfort zone and now I feel confident to expand to different type of quilts.

There is an extra one in the package for you BeBe. I was a 1" off on all the blocks when I cut them so you now have a baby block! :lol:

Thanks for organizing this swap for us - I certainly understand that life happens.... so each person gets one less block - and our group gets the Hunter's Star returned - I have always wanted to make a Hunter's Star quilt, anyway, and now I know how to make the block. Maybe I will use mine for the center of a new quilt, and I'll just add a bunch of borders to it.

Or maybe.... just thinking here - maybe those remaining in our group would like to use the block as the center of a Round Robin Exchange... I send my center block to someone who adds a border to it. Then she sends it to someone else for a second border, and finally to someone else for the third and final border. Then you ship it back to the original owner. We have done this in our guild for the past few years.

We could establish some rules such as: Borders not more than 5" wide, and you can use a small (up to 1") stop border before adding your next border. Then we would have rules for each border:
Border 1: Triangles
Border 2: Applique'
Border 3: Squares/Rectangles

Before we begin, we would be sorted into groups of four. Everyone interested would send me a pm with their addresses so that the instructions to you would include the address of where you send your next Round Robin. The original person would send the block, and any instructions/personal preferences along with three mailing labels in a large manila padded envelope. Just re-use the same envelope each time you send it along. You pay for postage each time. You will have one month to get each border done and ship to the next person on the 1st of the month.

When you get your block back, it will have three borders added to it; the right size for a cute table topper or wall hanging.

This would be a kind of design challenge. Is anyone interested? Send me a pm to let me know and I would be happy to facilitate this new Swap. If Bebe mails out our blocks by the 31st of March, we could begin on May 1st. I would need responses as soon as possible, and would form the groups and send your instructions by April 15th, giving you time to mail your center block to the next person on your list. you would not necessarily need to use the extra block you get returned from Bebe, but we would add the rule that the center block be no larger than 12-1/2", as most of our blocks are in this swap. Does this sound fun to you? Let me know, and we will continue our fun!

That does sound like a great idea but I'm already involved in 2 RR groups right now...so I'll have to sit this one out and watch. Its a great idea for the extra block though!

So, I take it that both groups had people who dropped out???

I am all for a round robin with my x-tra blocks or even better, donating them for a good cause.

All of you are so nice about this and I understand that some people have their problems, but I will not join another swap after what happened on this one. I did enjoy making all the blocks and it was a real learning experience for me, making some things that I wouldn't have done on my own, but it is very dissapointing that the results didn't pan out as planned.

Expect the unexpected in swaps. People in the beginning want to do well but by the end they forget their commitment and do not take it seriously. They think they can just leave and let others down. Very common in swaps. So sad but true!!!! :( :(

The original block I nade ScrappyLouisa was with too wild of cats for her (she said they were ok, but after I saw what she didn't want, I realized that it was not right.) Anyway I just kept buying kitty fabric, so I made her a couple of extra blocks which I am now posting.

Scrappy, hopefully I will get to the PO today, but if not they will go out on Monday.

Sorry the 1st one came out so light - it really is cute the cat's eyes are the same aqua color as the fabric.

I had so much fun making the different blocks with the different colors, I didn't make one of my own and I really wanted to, so now I will be able to fill in with my own, I will certainly do another swap someday.

I'll do another swap in the future. I enjoyed doing different blocks & learned in the process. I made my first paper pieced block (Hunter's Star) - liked the process & I made my first log cabin - didn't like the process. Sew & learn!

I received the extra blocks that you sent to me. I love each and every one of them. The kitty with the green eyes is adorable.

I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much about this swap. I have been busy with my husband, Rich. He has been having to go to the VA hospital 200 miles from our home for tests and doctor's appointments for the last several months. Hopefully the last appointment was the last one for a while.
