Performance anxiety conquered!

Lol. I have had FMQ performance anxiety for months....just couldn't make myself lower those feed dogs! This is a 72". Long table runner for DS and family....I just did a loopy pattern and it's no where close to perfect, but I now have the courage to try an actual quilt! I think I need gloves- I have some weakness in my right hand and I had trouble guiding the fabric. Guess what-the quilting police didn't show up! ;). Question.... I used brown thread on the bobbin to blend with the backing fabric. There are places on the top where a little pop of brown shows-is that just from moving the fabric too quickly, or is it a tension issue? Thanks for the lovely inspiration you all post!

Beautiful table runner. Great quilting job.

very unique' ,looks great

Very nice table runner. I love it.

Well done! You probably needed a little less tension on your top thread but a perfectly balanced stitch for FMQ is tough. I usually just use the same colour in the bobbin as the spool. The gloves help tremendously! My favourites are Machingers.

nicely done... if you just a few pokies, they may disappear in the wash. if you have a lot, do as tartan suggested

nice table runner

If I see just one or two places where the top or bottom thread is showing on the opposite side I blame the operator (me), not the tension. Moving the sandwich too fast for the machine.
Lovely topper! |
Thanks for the tips-quiltnnan was right-after washing it and drying, the thread pops have mostly disappeared! Yay!

Great job!
