We are to mail on the 15th? I have figured out that rectangles are harder to work on. This one measured 23 by 29 1/2 yipes....I'll post a pic later today almost finished

picture, well I hope you like it. It took a while to figure out what to do because of the size and shape. Then it came to me that the sides and the up and down do not have to be the same. This is my first round robin
|
love the colors and how you put them together
|
Oh thank you so much, I am so nervous about messing up someones quilt
:-D |
Can I mail it now?
|
you are not the only one this is my first and all i can do is my best
|
What wonderful work
|
very pretty Knot Sew. I like how you picked up the soft colors from the background of the center. Lovely.
|
I think you did a great job on that knot sew!!! You are so right, the sides and top/bottom did not have to be the same...what a liberating idea!
I think you do need to hang on to it for a little bit...did you get the email from Steph? |
You ladies all make me feel so good, thank you.
I thought she meant for us to mail on schedule, but I will now wait for further instructions :-D :-D :-D |
OK....Ruth, Steph delayed the mailing date for this group so that the 2 centers can get caught up. That will allow that extra bit of time needed for it to flow smoothly. If you have any questions, please pm/email Steph or me. I still love your addition!
|
Hey Ruth - I guess you didn't get my last email!
We are pushing back the mailing date for each round by one month. So, this round is to be mailed March 15, round 3 on May 15 and Round 4 on July 15. I will PM everyone since it looks like my last email didn't get to everyone! Steph PS - your border looks great!!! |

Hi Group 10!
I have everything worked out - we will add a 6th person to have the correct number of borders. We will pushe everything back by a month to accomodate our changes. I will email/pm everyone with the "new" schedule either today or tomorrow - basically, Patti is stepping into Dee Dee's spot so the only change with rotation is that I send to Patti instead of MaryQuiteContrary (MQC) and MQC will receive from Patti instead of me. Again, I will email and PM everyone the new info and schedule. Please reply back to me after you receive it so I know that everyone has the info! happy sewing! Steph |
Hi groupies! I'm so happy to join in with this group, lots of talented ladies! *running off to get my center going*
|
We are thrilled to have you join us patti!
Group 10 Ladies, check you regular email for the new schedule/chart for our group!!!!!!!! Please email me when you receive it so that I know who has it and who doesn't! Steph |
I got a email but not a chart. Do I keep sending to the same person as before.? I think mine is unchanged, am I right? Glad to hear we have 6 people again :-D
|
Ruth,You will mail to the same person...Steph. I believe that the path your center is taking remains exactly the same. Once we get the 2 centers (yours is one of them) that got delayed back on track...we'll have it all straightened out. Steph has really worked hard to make sure the group can get back on track with everything going the right direction. Could you check to see if your email had an attachment? Thats how she sent the chart.
And I pulled my center out today...I have to add the 3 & 5"'s to it...then, we'll be good to go! |
Hi ruth, I did not send an attachment with the pm through QB, but I did send the attachment through regular email. If you use a different email from the pm email, then check that one - you will find the attachment! I will resend to you right now just in case somehow it didn't come through to you the 1st time.!

OK...whew...I am not officially stuck. I pulled out this center and whipped the 3" (or there abouts) border around it...then..I had an idea of what to do, but can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. GRRRRR!!!! I hate when that happens! I am trying to make the thing end up being a size that is easy to add borders to and it isn't there yet. So...I'm open to ideas...right now it is 21.5 x 24...so weird, huh???
IRR group 10 center and 1st round |
I see a border of burgundy and green, maybe with flowers on it.
that is a beautiful center!! Somehow I missed seeing this one. |
You didn't miss it Ninnie...I am a late joiner to the group, so I just pulled it out and put the 1st border on it. It still needs 1 more round to get caught up....so you are seeing something with a darker background?
|
Patti, if you can bear to do more appliqué, you could do a plainish background (uneven sizes to even up the measurements) and do a vine in the green with some burgundy buds? I think ninnie's right about putting some more dark. :-D
|
Glad you explained, I thought I was loosing it
I like the idea of a dark burgundy background with the green stems and some more flowers, if you want to do more applique. It would make the center larger. And it doesn't have to be square, most quilts aren't. It is going to be a beautiful one for sure. Lots of possibilities. |
Hmmm....ya'll have some great ideas..now I'll have to dig around and see if I have anything more to match this in my stash. I had the applique in mind, but was going to do it on a pieced border (that hourglass shape-whatever that block is called)...I'll think some more today...I really appreciate your help!
|
I don't see the problem with having unequal borders! Makes it interesting to work on - and with your applique floral center (which is as beautiful as always!), the borders can be different lengths and with some applique in the corner blocks or in the borders themselves will just add to the fluidity!

I agree mama...uneven borders are fine...I just wanted them to end up divisable by SOME number    As it is, it is very difficult to find a block that works out without causing a major headache (well, at least to me  - I am math challenged) So anyway...I dug around and here is what I've come up with...a darker rust for the background...then the vine that is wound on the spool..the 2 different greens for the leaves and then the blue/brown and gold for the flowers...probably tulip type or something else round. DH says it passes on the color match is ok.....so what do ya'll think of going this direction?
background and.... for the flowers vines and leaves |
looks great to me altho i am not in your group
|
Those are all great! I love the darker rust colored one, and the dark one with the olive green flowers is beautiful. they all go together with the center great. What is that you are using for the stems? I think I need to get me some of that    If I didn't have to make bias , I might do some applique.
|
Ha Ha Ninnie...that is some leftover bias that I made for Esqmommy's center from the applique I did in Group 4. So...I think there is enough there to do what I want to do here. I made it doing the "circular bias" ...I hadn't done it that way before and it made a ton!!! Which I was glad..since now I have it already done.
But...ok...so now, I'll have to sleep and dream exactly how I need to do this part, then I'll get started. |
Perfick Patti - are you done yet?
|
Brain got sidetracked to Funky Chickens.....so..nope..not started yet..
|
Hey look! A chicken!!
|
