"Design Divas" is a great name!

Here is my label - will this work? I need to trim it a bit, not sure how big to make it?

sew cornie 10-14-2009 07:55 PM

Your label looks great Suzi. Love your new avatar too - what a sweetheart she is!

TOMORROW IS THE DAY!! WOOHOO!! I'll be waving goodbye to my center as it jets off to Colorado. Looking forward to hearing from those who haven't mailed yet. HOORAY!!

Tisha's center arrived at my place today. (It is my first ever squishy package.) And it is even nicer in person than in picture. Okay, now I'm officially scared.

Got Barbara's center today . . . it's gorgeous! The bali's will be so much fun to work with. :-)

quilter1962 10-17-2009 03:00 AM

Oohhh

I'm so pleased your starting to receive the centres, I'm hoping Mareliba's centre will appear this week too. I know it's on it's way to me. I just can't wait to get my mitts on her Batik centre. :P

I'm a little nervous - I want to do such a great job on these quilts - I'm glad we have quite a while before mailing them off again. I have been doing a lot of research on borders, I'm hoping each of the quilts "speak" to me.

LoriJ 10-17-2009 12:18 PM

Susie, your center arrived today. It is really pretty! Now, to hang it in my sewing room and ponder for a few days.

mareliba 10-19-2009 01:20 PM

Received Lori's center today. It is truely more impressive in person.

sew cornie 10-23-2009 02:00 PM

I finished Barb's today. Whew. Had the design plan in mind, but took three tries to get the color combo right (and I only had two colors I was working with! Ugh). I think it turned out very well but now I'm just so nervous hoping she's gonna like it. I'll wait to post till everyone's closer to ready so they'll be grouped together on our thread. It will make it easier for those following along to check them out. And for us to go back to reference them too.

quilter1962 10-23-2009 02:14 PM

Received Marianne's centre yesterday, it was waiting for me when I got home. It's even more beautiful in person.
I pulled out batiks first thing this morning from my stash to use - now to put my thinking cap on LOL.

Tisha

sew cornie 10-24-2009 01:36 PM

So glad Marianne's arrived safely. Lovely new avatar you have too.

I finally found this thread - how's everyone doing? I've been quite sick for a couple of weeks, so haven't been able to sew.

I cant wait to go to the fabric store, they have the perfect material there for SewCornie's center. I saw it the last time I was in visiting (at that time I didn't have her center) now I'm on pins and needles to get there and buy it. :-)

Is anyone done with their's yet? I hope I'm not holding anyone up on posting pics.

sew cornie 11-03-2009 01:39 PM

Sure hope you and DH are feeling better Suzi. You guys have really been hit hard. Hope Jacob's all better too.

Usually I'm a quilting snail, but Barbara's center spoke to me right away and I finished it pretty quickly. Mostly because I was so excited to do it, but also to put something in the "finished column" of my project list. I don't think you're holding anybody up. Let's all check back in in a week or two and take stock of where everyone's at, okay?

Focus on getting yourself well. That's much more important than meeting a mailing date in my opinion.

Here's Barbara's. I couldn't believe how perfectly matched the colors were in the fabrics I found. I wanted to stay with the geometric look for this border, but keeping the next rounds in mind, added symmetry to it. Hope you like it Barbara!

Butterflyspain 11-06-2009 12:50 PM

Yet another beauty, well done it lovely

Elle

sandpat 11-06-2009 04:01 PM

Yes! That fabric does match amazingly well! That was a great addition to the center :D

ai731 11-06-2009 04:37 PM

Lori, took one look at this and said WOW!! Really beautiful

pennyswings 11-06-2009 04:53 PM

sew cornie, the border is perfect for the center. It was so great that you could find fabrics that went so well with the center.

Bettia 11-06-2009 04:55 PM

wow! what beautiful quilts

LoriJ 11-06-2009 05:21 PM

ohh pretty, pretty. I really like the blues and greens together. Your fabric has just the right tone. Looking forward to working on that one!

b.zang 11-06-2009 06:58 PM

Okay, I'm impressed. Jennifer, it's amazing how well those fabrics match! Thanks for taking the center into a new colour.

Lori - your border is lovely. I hadn't even noticed the bright lavenders in the block until you picked them up in the border.

Tisha, you're going to have to wait a couple more days. I'm picking off what I put on and changing it. Well, some of it, anyway.

Iluv2quilt 11-06-2009 08:27 PM

Wow!! Lori, I Love what you have done, it's just beautiful!! I really notice the lavender and also the gold from the pansy material. Your pansies are soo cute!! Thank you!!

Jen, You did a great job in keeping with the geometry. It looks like she planned it this way, it's a great continuanc and the color matches perfectly!!

I finally feel good enough to sew, Yay!!! SewCornie, I'll be traveling to buy fabric tomorrow :D :D , what a great way to start a new day!! I hope they still have the fabric I had in mind.

sew cornie 11-07-2009 12:36 AM

Thanks for the kudos everybody. This was a really nice one to work on. Different from anything I've done in the past.

Barbara, thank you for letting me share your project. I'm glad you approve.

That's so pretty. I love the way the border keeps the fluid movement of the center. Now for ideas on how to continue the rhythm . . . . I'm really looking forward to getting this one next. Nice job Barbara!

OK - I thought we were waiting to put our centers on the web. Should we post them again around Dec 1st so we can find them if we need to???

Here is Lori's center. I really like how it turned out.
