It would be fantastic in my bedroom!! LOL Beautiful quilt!!

Harmony 08-29-2010 02:45 PM

Eddie, this is different than all your more traditional quilts. but I totally LOVE it (and I am NOT a fan of batiks). I don't know what you plan to call it, but it needs some space-agy name--Planets on Parade or something. Gorgeous!

mommaB 08-29-2010 02:53 PM

Holy smokes   You have endless talent.

SharonAnne 08-29-2010 02:57 PM

Dear Arkansas Man Quilter - it's mersmerizing. So beautiful and soothing to the soul. Maybe someday, I'll be able to do work almost as good as yours. I'll look for you on FB, too.

Did you use some of the Connecting Threads Batiks in this? If so, how do they compare with the other brands?

I'm still contemplating how to quilt this. I finished the borders this evening, so will have to decide soon on the quilting. Maybe I'll just put it on the longarm and hope inspiration comes to me. :D

I did use the Connecting Threads batiks for this and really liked them. They had little fraying and sewed well. I'll definitely be buying more of them.

I have a message from my daughter for you Eddie.

*Quotes kid*

"My sweet 16 is coming up soon and that would be perfect, why don't you share?"

That's the best compliment I've had in a long time. :) Tell her Thanks from me!

It's called "Dr. Watson's Cosmos" and is actually by Marilyn Eimon. It was included in the book as an example of what could be done with the method. I changed it some from her version, but only slightly here and there.

Ditter43 08-29-2010 07:12 PM

I wondered what you were going to make with all those batiks you got recently!
I see a lot of strip piecing in that design...It is beautiful! It will be a striking piece when you have finished it!! I am looking forward to seeing the finished piece! :D

Thanks again, everyone. I've got the borders on now and it's loaded on the longarm and ready to quilt. I'm open to suggestions on how to quilt it. Any ideas?

I love it!

Sheila Elaine 08-30-2010 07:59 PM

Another gorgeous wall-hanging Eddie. I really like the batiks you chose. They add so much with so many colors in each circle & square. Great pattern too.

I ordered two Cappuccino Jelly Rolls & can't wait to get them to start making Christmas gifts. I'll have to order some bright colors to go with the dark chocolates/coffee colors.

katier825 08-31-2010 01:27 AM

Love the borders too! Not sure how I'd quilt it, but I think some circles/swirls in the circles would be nice. Not sure of the background. You might try a google image search for circle quilts and get some ideas about that.

Glad you liked the connecting threads batiks. I guess that's where I'll shop next! :)

I'm glad that you share all of your work with us!

This has been a LOT of fun working on and I'm enjoying the "artsy" aspect of it. I used to paint years ago, so this is a lot like using fabrics to paint. I still need to add the borders and will then start quilting it. I've decided that I really like piecing curves. :)

WOW! YOUR Quilt is so neat and Very Beautiful! Great Job!!! :XD:  :-o
