I do watercolor paintings and this would definitely be something I would love to do when I get better at sewing in general

Eddie that is just beautiful. I think we all need to go outside of our comfort range when quilting. It is good to stretch our quilting brains.

New knee 08-31-2010 11:09 AM

Beautiful quilt! I love batiks and love circles. I have made a quilt of batiks, using the drunkard's path pattern and put blocks together to make circles. I used a Pepper Cory design. Wish I had a pic to show.

gramadona 08-31-2010 11:27 AM

Oooh, I've been afraid to try cicles and curves!
Yours are perfect... great job.

k3n 08-31-2010 01:48 PM

Absolutely stunning! I love the way the circles seem to float. I agree witht he suggestion about doing concentric circes FMQ.

catlover 08-31-2010 02:06 PM

Very lovely fabric selection, Eddie. Makes the eyes want to take time to enjoy. Keep up the good work.

hmmm. Firstly, absolutely incredibly beautiful! As for quilting--i'm thinking about long, large ovals to sort of look like the rings of Saturn, etc..?

Sheree from Chicago 08-31-2010 03:21 PM

Eddie it's absolutely fantastic! Love the pattern and fabric choices. And as always your piecing is impeccable! Welcome to the world of modern quilting! I can't wait to see how you quilt it.

Hi Eddie, I've done a Louisa Smith, beautiful how they turn out. Wonder about the Cathedral Window you had started. Did you finish it or???? Can't wait to see how that turned out with the batiks. Ellen

Eddie, Your wall hanging is so beautiful. I am sure Louisa Smith would be thrilled to see an example of her design. I wish you would send her a pic of it! She is at [email protected]

Fabulous! I too love a challenge, but this is beyond anything I could accomplish.

QUILT4JOY 09-01-2010 11:53 AM

Incredible Eddie. Wonderful use of batiks. I used to paint too and now find fabric to be a much nicer way to put together color.

dphelps 09-01-2010 12:12 PM

Eddie, you know, anything you do is a masterpiece. You are truly a gifted individual. I just love your work.

PurpleBecca 09-01-2010 12:15 PM
