Here's a couple of pics of a wall hanging that I'm working on. If you've seen some of my previous projects, you know that this is really quite a departure for me from the traditional things I've done. It's done in batiks and is based on a quilt in the book "Strips 'n Curves" by Louisa L. Smith. When finished, it will measure about 50" x 42". This has been a LOT of fun working on and I'm enjoying the "artsy" aspect of it. I used to paint years ago, so this is a lot like using fabrics to paint. I still need to add the borders and will then start quilting it. I've decided that I really like piecing curves. :)

I love it! How do you plan to quilt it? I've been gettting the itch to do curves too. Got to finish up Christmas presents before I can do another one for me.
Did you use some of the Connecting Threads Batiks in this? If so, how do they compare with the other brands? |
man you are really out of the quilt cricle so nice
|
Eddie that is awesome. That is certainly a challenge. I am thinking I have that book and I did do some blocks from that book. You do beautiful work!
|
It must be said again!! Is there anything you can't do??? LOL I love it Eddie! I so admire you for learning and liking to do curves.
|
That's gorgeous. I have to admit, I've done a lot of curved piecing and I can't say I enjoy it much.
|
Beautiful! Love the colors and design that you used.

I don't know how all of you choose your colors. Something like this and I am intimidated just looking at it.

Great quilt. (knew I shouldn't have shown it to daughter)
I have a message from my daughter for you Eddie. *Quotes kid* "My sweet 16 is coming up soon and that would be perfect, why don't you share?" |
This is great Eddie. Out of the traditional, into new approaches and interpretations. It's a beauty!
|
Your new area of expertise is amazing. I like the book and love the colors of the batiks. My own favorite wall hanging which I have completed is from a batik kit from John Flynn. The curves are easy to do and add an element of excitement to the quilt. Keep up your fabric painting. You will continue to inspire each of us! Thanks for sharing :-)

Wow....beautiful...love it!!!
|
Wow and wow!
Eddie, you need to choose the paint colors for my house. You do so well with your quilts. Beautiful. |
