I finished the top to my disappearing 9 patch quilt. Our quilt guild traded pink blocks. Everyone used the same fabric of brown for the centers. Some put the blocks back together with the same fabric, but I liked the "scrappy" look. I put mine on point with sashing. I really like how it turned out. Hope you all do!

Like the sashing. It really adds to the look of the quilt.
Very Pretty! |
I love it! Pink and brown go so nicely together. The scrappy look is especially neat. Great job!
|
Yet again, another great way of adapting the D9P, this quilt is fantastic, I love the colours you have used :D
|
Love it and putting it on point sure makes it different. Great job. :D
|
Love it on point!!!! Great quilt!!

I LOVE IT!!!!
GREAT JOB! |
I'm working on one of those and I had started sewing the pieces into one big top but I think I like your idea of making squares and using sashing....
so think I'll rip out what I've got done - very little, thankfully - and swipe your idea!! Thanks for posting this before I got more done  :D |
I really like this.

I'm working on a disappearing 9-patch right now. I hadn't thought of putting the blocks on point. Love your quilt. Thanks for giving me more ideas since I plan to do a couple more disappearing 9-patches.
|
I love it Susan, the color combination is fantastic.
|
I usually don't like scrappy quilts but yours looks great. Maybe the pattern I picked for the one I am almost done with is why I don't like it.
|
It's beautiful!
|
Really pretty! Love pink with anything and everything! Nice job!
|
That is sew pretty, I really love the pinks and brown
|
Very pretty. I love how you put it on point with sashing.
|

Very pretty! I love pink and brown together. I also like this on point.

Really like the colors, sashing and on point. Gives the block a great new twist!

I really like it!

Susan,
Could you tell us the size of the individual block in the nine patch? Also I would like to know what size this quilt ended up being. It looks nice sized. I love the look of this disappearing nine patch it is more orderly looking even with it being done scrappy. Thanks for sharing. Debbie |

When I made the 9 patch before cutting it in 4th's, the patches were 3 1/2 inch squares. With the borders, the total size of the quilt is 54 x 78. HTH Susan |
Sorry... I did a double post. I tried to delete it.

I think it's FAB!
|
Very nice. The sashing really ties it together and keeps it from looking "scrappy". Good job.
|
Susan, Thank you so much for your dimensions. That is a great twin sized quilt. I just love your colors. Oldest grandaughter would like one in pink and black. I would like brown much better. Oh well gotta love 'em. LOL Debbie |
I have to agree that the color combination is really pleasing to the eye! Great job!

Debbie It is a square within a square block. It's hard to believe how it turns out, it is just the way you turn the block. Here is a picture of the block diagram Susan[img] |
:D :D :D Awesome and inspiring.
Thanks for sharing....... judee |
That is so nice! What a great group effort too. I still don't get why it is called the Disappearing Nine Patch. I have seen the instructions, but I know years from now, I just won't be able to come up with that name!
