I thnk looking for a copy of Sharyn Craig's book on settings would give you many great ideas

I am divided between a mild narrow colored sashing and a wider cream one with purple and/or green sawtooth stars around a cornerstone. One consideration is how large you want the finished quilt to be. I would probably use a really nice fancy fabric for an unpieced border of 6", maybe with the same sashing inside that.

Usually when you receive blocks the sizes may vary slightly. How about you alternate borders around each block, one purple and the next green. Then you can trim the blocks all to the same size and the borders will act as sashing. I made a scrappy like this and really liked the way it turned out.
Here's a picture of it to give you an idea of what I'm describing, although your quilt would look so much more elegant. |

I would use a narrow sashing to separate the blocks. Use the purple or the darker green to separate blocks , then use a border of the opposite color.
