The border did NOT come out as easily as the picture of the pattern. I had to add "spacers" all around an measure each one to have it fit. Some points are not beautiful but, hey, the galloping horse rules! Amazing what you can fix with a 1/16th or 1/32nd " seam allowance!

Colors don't show as rich as really are.

Add spacers

LOL. Our horses say "Quilt, Quilt, Quilt. Doesn't she know about apples and carrots and sugar cubes"

Wouldn't it be awesome if we could find sturdy enough material to start a line of patchwork quilted horse blankets?!

Jenniky 03-03-2011 06:36 PM

That turned out awesome... PP is becoming my favorite form of quilt piecing.

Happy quilting.

Beautiful. But did you say PP, I envy you for the patience you had to do something like this. I wish I could get that good.

Mostly I could do one block a day. It was such fun! And I had other projects going, too. Wish you could get that good?? The previous one I did was just for the NY beauties and they were quite large! So this was the second PP and I used the freezer paper method. So easy! PM me if you want a link to the method.

Thanks for looking!

I love how you used the spacers in the border. I think it made it more unique and interesting. Great fix for a tricky situation.

lovely!

Sue Fors 03-04-2011 04:53 AM

I think you did a great job! But, if you really did do some 'scant' seams, you might want to reinforce them with some 'wiggle in the ditch' quilting for added support.

pollyjvan9 03-04-2011 05:11 AM

After just working on my 1st pp blocks I really, really appreciate your work. I adore the blue bird.
