Bravo, standing ovation! That is a wonderful quilt for his retirement after years of service. You must really love your neighbor/friend to take on such a task. It truly is remarkable you made something remarkable within two days!

I can't imagine doing that big quilt in 2 days. I couldn't even think about it in 2 days. Also it is very creative and very pretty.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It has taken me all this week-end to re-coop from my sewing marathon. My friend is not back from the retirement trip yet, so I don't know how well the quilt was received, she was going to present it to him at the General's banquet. Steve(BIL) has served two terms in Iraq and is being given an award cermony. I would have to say that all the ironing involved was the biggest pain in the b__, and doing the photos was easy, but time consuming. And lastly it took 4 hrs non-stop sewing to hand-stitch the binding to the back. The quilt came out to be 60"x79".
