Below are pics of a quilt that I made from a customer's vintage quilt blocks. The blocks were made in 1935 for her mother who retired as a school teacher upon her marriage. The blocks were made by families of her students with each block having an embroidered name of one of her fellow teachers. Each block measures 14" square, and the entire quilt measures 88" x 88".

Eddie, this is a reminder how how far the women of today have come from 1935. Back then, when a woman married, most school boards deemed that a she couldn't maintain both jobs and was asked/forced to quit her job. So women were forced to make choices, teach and be single or married and be a wife. Surprisingly, that is why there were a lot of ladies who chose teaching and stayed single. Now look at us, we comprise over 60% of the workforce. Thanks for sharing this beautiful quilt with us. Great workmanship.
