Quilt block pics

1 Attachment(s)
I thought it would be good to have a topic for people to post pics of just quilt blocks. I've seen topics about completed quilts, but had not seen any for those wanting to post pics of just one block.

I made this one from the pattern found here:

http://quilting.about.com/od/blockof...ck-Pattern.htm

Finished size is 12" x 12".

interesting blocks

Lots of JUST quilt blocks have been posted on all the FWS and PC threads!
So you may want to check those threads out.
With each person using different fabrics, sometimes it's hard to tell that it's the same block

Here are some RWB "Ohio Star" blocks I made a couple of years ago for a group quilt (made for a wounded vet). They're certainly nothing fancy but they were fun to do.

Here are some little mini Scotties I used for a baby quilt that I made several years ago. I put them together with a red/black/white plaid & was quite happy with how it turned out. Of course, I forgot to take a picture! I swear... I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached! LOL!

Last (but not least). Here are some Stack & Whack blocks I made from some precious bear fabric. I made this to donate to Project Linus. I hope some little child is enjoying this as much as I enjoyed making it!

I lied... one more batch. Here are some small (not mini but small -- I think they went on 6" background blocks) red & blue Dresden Plates. I have yet to turn them into anything & in fact, had forgotten all about them... LOL!

Looks like a block made from a technique in Nancy Brenan Daniel's book Dissappearing 9 Patch. Have made many many of these and love the way they look

Okay, I'll play too! Here are three blocks I made yesterday for out guilds Block of the Months. I assigned 12 ladies to come up with a block, each had to design a block with curves, 1/2 sq triangles, or paperpieced, or other elements with the name of the block beginning with the letter of their first name. Each month I give that person the block I have made that month. One person was behind, one on time and one ahead of time, so I made all three yesterday. They each will get my blocks on Monday. The third one is call Chinese Lantern, I really like it and think it would look beautiful in jewel tone fabrics.

All of the blocks were made in swaps and colors were requested! Gladie, you just know my favorite choices that I often choose for myself!! But I do love to stretch out of the box, too. It opens my mind up to using color and patterns in new ways.

N--stretching our quilting ideas shows growth in the quilting process--yes it's fun to crawl out of our individual boxes!
I have a few blocks to share-always something on my design wall. One of the blocks from the FW Pony Club threads on the board. Some baby hearts. And liberated courthouse steps
