This is a really easy design and neat for using two inch scrap squares.

I just make them up usually depending on what size scraps I want to work with. I keep lots of different sizes of strips and squares, which I cut when I finish each quilt top.

Maybe I should explain that a bit more...since I wanted to use two inch squares, I knew that two together would be 3.5 inches, so I started with a white 3.5 inch square and built from there.

Thanks! For several years, I didn't keep up with the scraps and still have bunches of those. I really, really like doing them this way. If something is less than about four inches, I don't put it back into stash, but cut it into strips. I would never make so many scrappy quilts if I had to get out five or six hundred pieces of fabric to cut off a bit!
