I tried the bethlehem star and it didnt work! I must have cut the 45 degree angle!! So not to waste the fabric i just peiced it this way its not great but it will work for me!
And any advice that you have to offer I will take!!! lol |
I think that is pretty darn cool looking. It really has an optical illusion effect going like it is in motion, spiraling. I, for one, am really glad you said "what the heck" and went ahead and finished it.

awesome
My first response is Oh that's cool. It looks like it is spinning. Love it.
I really like it, wish my mistakes could look like that. Great job.
It looks great!! Glad you didn't just toss the project, you made something cool out of it!!!
Can feel the movement :!:

Whatever, it looks good to me.
Oooooo Very Pretty :D:D:D

I am looking for the problem, I'm looking and I don't see anything wrong. I want to make that mistake. Fabulous job.
Very nice!
If I look at it too long, I feel dizzy! If there was a way to expand the outside into a circle, I bet that would be interesting. Maybe you've created a new design of odd-numbered pieces. We quilters don't necessarily have to stay in the lines when coloring or quilting. Go for what you know. Expand your horizons........Thanks for sharing this with us. I bet some others may try it just to see if they can recreate it.

I like it.
What a great mistake. I wish my mistakes turned out that nice.
Very interesting!
Thats a great looking mistake.
That is so cool!
I like it.
That's neat how you solved the problem. I usually do two parts then 4, two parts then four and sew the 2 halves together. (clear as mud) Nice colors!
Congratulations! You took lemons and made lemonade!
I for one have always said that "mistakes" are what make a quilt unique, I can always pick apart my own work, I think we are our own worst enemys sometime. I love the way this quilt seems to turn, be proud, it is truly lovely!!!
I will be trying a Bethlehem Star soon...hope I don't have your trouble! I'll let you know how I do!! :-) And I like how you saved it!!! Very inventive.
Nice, brave one!

My boo-boos don't turn out like that!! Looks really cool!!
I don't see a problem, but Kaye Woods has a free video on strippping, cutting and sewing the texas star.
That is awesome. What an optical illusion. Your mistake turned out great. My mistakes never look like that.
Love it!!! Some of the best quilts come from "mistakes"!!!
I can see why it whipped your butt! But look at the gorgeous outcome! And it was a GOOD butt whipping, too! Great Job! Congrats!
yes optical illusion, did it make you go crossed eyed, or hypnotic effect in the making? looks great!
Hi Jamh, I counted the rows in your points and you seem to have too many in some-- that's prolly the problem. But hey the finished quilt is still awesome!
I like it a lot!!
There are no mistakes in quilting...just opportunities to try a new pattern. Great job.
If this is a mistake? What is a great job? Wonderful quilt, anyone would be proud to have this in their home.
how lovely....i like it alot
Now that is a happy accident. I like it...

Awesome. Tell anyone who asks " this was my design elements
gone wild!" |
I love the motion. Congratulations for forging ahead and finishing it. It's great. :-D
