I would go both ways. The washing would distort it unless you even out the quilting. Just use a walking foot and take care to press it before you start the second set of quilting lines.

I have to add my two cents.
A few years back I made a fall leaves quilt for my step-daughter. The pattern called for one direction quilting, much like you have here. The idea was to give the impression of the wind blowing through the leaves. I think that's exactly what you have going with your quilting right now. I vote to put a binding on it and call it done! Beautiful! As always! |
I would leave it.love the movement look now.
|
Leave it, it looks great!
|
I like it like it is!!!
|
I love the movement in the quilt as it is too :D:D:D
I think I like it better going in this direction... it really makes the quilt flow with the colors, the other way it may look like it is fighting against them, JMHO Your sister is going to LOVE this!!!! |
I have seen the circles all along. Sometimes when you look at it another way, different size, upside down, sideways those interesting seconary designs pop right out. I was suprised you didn't see them in person.
Now if you make one for yourself, you can quilt in the circles and highlight those! |

Barnbum, I would still do the SID quilting, but just along the circle lines, that would make them pop right out.
