Well it's all done! Seriously except for some thread picking she's all done. A quilt that pretty must be a girl right?

I went with a prairie point border. Oh my but it was much more work intensive than a normal border. Here are the photos of the binding.

After my personal push of "I'm going to get this done today!" I'm feeling a bit worn out and tired!

I wanted to put this in the nice pretty Vera Bradley box I saved, but it wont fit not even close!

The Prairie Points are A-OK;A #1  I know what a sense of accomplishment you must be feeling right now. How many PPs did you use? Just curious. It REALLY looks nice.

By the end of the night last night I was calling her "Big Red" go figure, right? Why do these things never come to us until it's over and done and we can't put it in the label?

Gail I made over 200 points. I think I have maybe 25 to 30 left. I measured the folded points - they measured about 3" so I assumed that with a bit of an over lap and seam allowance it would equal 2" of border per point. The quilt is 100" by 101" or at least that's what I recall. So that meant 50 points a side for 200+/- points.

We ended up staying here for Christmas, so Big Red was opened right here in my little house. Oh well. My mom wanted to know when I'd had time to make another quilt. My DH laughed at that later and said "everytime you were working on it you told her you were working on something different".

All the little linties where washed off, Big Red's first bath (washing machine). I'm telling you ladies, one cup of vinegar and two dye magnet sheets and something like this stays looking like this.

I still haven't seen it on her bed, but perhaps soon, mom told me she spread it out, just so she could see it. ;) She even said that now she has two so she can rotate them. Isn't that nice?

Open Wide, it's a star!
