I've been "playing" with your quilt all day, what do you think of this?

Been playing with it today also, and it is done and on it's way home to you. I love your quilt and think it turned out amazing. Would love to see a pic of the finished product.

Elisabrat 01-31-2014 10:03 PM

wow did that grow FAST! how big did it end up?? I think you had an interesting size to start with for your round Jan. love the stars!

jaba 02-01-2014 05:04 AM

It was 50 x 50" now with my round on it, it's 62 x 62". Think Miriam ended up with a beautiful quilt. Hope she likes it in person.

SandyinZ4 02-01-2014 07:39 AM

Great job, Jan. Looking forward to seeing the last two with the last rounds on them.

Teresa, thank you so much, think you tied it all in with your border. So excited to see it "for real", the pic looks fabulous. You ended my day on a happy note......waiting yet another year for a Super Bowl win.

SandyinZ4 02-02-2014 07:27 PM

Teresa, wow! I am sure Jan will love it! Could you post just a single pic of it close up so easier to see, please. Much as I like the collages, I like the close up ones, too. Would especially like to see that last border you put on. You outdid yourself!

It's on its way to you tomorrow Jan. I think it looks like a romantic Valentine.

jaba 02-02-2014 08:26 PM

Love the close up! Hope the USPS is very fast, want it home now! Thank you all so much for working on this quilt for me. I will probably add 1 or 2 more rounds but will decide when it actually gets here. Have all queens and kings in this house and really want it for summer on our king size bed or maybe ??? Our bedroom is purple - lavenders and chocolate brown, have a off white cream comforter and bed sham so this should blend really well and bring in the light colors.

SandyinZ4 02-02-2014 09:11 PM

Wow! It is even better looking close up. What a gorgeous quilt. Jan, you will have a gorgeous bedroom for the coming summer with this addition. Thanks Teresa for the closeup pic.

TwinRiverFarm 02-03-2014 03:16 AM

Amazing! It reminds me of one of those pretty lacy hankerchiefs with the tatted edging, very feminine and dainty. Great job. So where is a picture of Tlambings to finish the gallery? Can they be posted in the picture section of the forum for all the QB members to admire?? Can't wait for the mailman now!

Emma S 02-03-2014 05:41 AM

All the borders are lovely but I want to try that last one as the outer border. Very , very effective! Beautiful quilt, Twin Rivers, know what you mean about the hankies of a by gone era. I swear my grandmother use to carry one that had those same colors in a floral.

Elisabrat 02-03-2014 06:42 AM

Emma I think I would like to post that one as the last one our Medallion quilt along. It is such a lovely ending I think. Now to wrangle that pattern from Teresa. I will ask everyone to square their quilts up so it makes it easy to put that round on (can be done at the end with a simple strip ).. this would be a cool way to finish up. So shhhhh don't tell the group!! surprises everyone likes surprise.

Emma S 02-03-2014 06:54 AM

Brat: Your secret is safe with me.

tlambing 02-03-2014 07:57 AM

Jan's border idea came from 60 Pieced Quilt Borders-Mix and Match-Judy Laquidara
I got this book not long ago on Amazon and LOVE it. Great ideas to use or modify. Good pictures and adequate instructions. (not a beginner book a little confusing and not definite step by step)

Elisabrat 02-03-2014 03:30 PM

I just got that book from themamahauser. I think its not written easy to use at all, bonus is all the quilt patterns in the front I guess. jan has one I love much more.. its older, black and white instructions instead of measurements it gives a grid one box equals one inch.. if you can figure that out then you can do all the rounds in there. It wins as best book ever for borders. Now to borrow it from her.. sneaking over to check out her book stash. She has like FIVE border books.. its a virtual candy store Jans books .. and fabrics.. I want this and that and heck with a diet I want them ALL!!! grin.. cant help it it happens every time I wander down into her sewing room.. idea central :)

Dragonfly Nana 02-03-2014 03:39 PM

That has turned out amazing. Such a beauty you all have created. Jan if I ever come visit you it may come home in my suitcase. :D

jaba 02-03-2014 03:44 PM

It's on the way, already have the wide backing for it and the varigated thread. Now I'll just have to decide how to quilt it and if it needs to be made a little bigger. Maybe I can get brat to do another round on it, then I'm not doing 2 of them..hmmm wonder if she'll go for that?

Annz 02-03-2014 04:41 PM

I can hardley wait.

There is a reason why I was so ready to part with it.

Glad to hear you ladies say that. I was thinking maybe I was just too DIM to understand it.

TwinRiverFarm 02-04-2014 03:12 AM

It's here! And just lovely! Thank you all for the talent, effort, genius and time each and every one of you put into my quilt. Not to mention (but I will) the fudge, gifties, encouragement and friendship. I feel like I have 4 extra sisters now (don't tell the 3 I started with- they will want to know where THEIR fudge is). Now to finish and quilt it........

Elisabrat 02-04-2014 05:30 AM

gulp sure Jan. you scare me what if you hate what I do then I get to do it AGAIN! lol.. these have been so much fun. Thank you all of you and please post your finished quilts right here for us to see completion even if its not for a while would be fun to share the end results. mine is so gorgeous I will have a hard time parting with it. I love everything everyone did. LUCKY me!

Wavewatcher 02-05-2014 08:06 AM

Enjoying the beautiful work and loving care as friends add to friends' quilts. Will I get to see Teresa's process shots and the completed top? Oh please, oh please!

I'm working on it! I have a couple of other pressing things I have to have done....but soon!

Debbie B 02-05-2014 08:56 AM

I have been following the progress of all your quilts. Its been so much fun and a learning experience as I watched you all add beauty to each quilt. Please remember to post pictures of the quilts after you quilt them.

SandyinZ4 02-05-2014 03:54 PM

Debbie and others... I will definitely post pics of my red & white one but won't be able to get to it until after May. Will let you know and post pictures when I get it done. :-)

jaba 02-07-2014 05:48 PM

Received my quilt in the mail today! Thank you all so much for all the work you put into it, I really do appreciate it. Now I need to find the time and get it quilted.

Thought I'd show all of you how my quilt turned out. Just have to hand sew the binding, but it's all quilted. Love the way it turned out. Thank you for helping me make it.

Jaba: Truly remarkable. Really looks like it was planned from start to finish, which to me, is the magic of these quilts.

SandyinZ4 03-01-2014 12:31 PM

Jan/Jaba...Thanks for showing us the finished quilt. It was a learning experience for me as that was my first round robin. It turned out gorgeous. Glad you are happy with it.

Debbie B 03-01-2014 01:02 PM

It's just beautiful! Love those curly-q's in your quilting.

jaba 03-01-2014 06:59 PM

Thanks Debbie, I call them mushroom tops but they seem to be my "fall back" pattern that pretty much goes with anything. Trust me, I use it a lot!!

pw6 03-02-2014 02:33 PM

we'll all be waiting with held breath..

Elisabrat 03-05-2014 10:19 AM

Jan that came out beautiful. I think it will make a pretty throw no matter where you put it.

Elisabrat 09-07-2014 01:54 PM
