I have finished with Kay's center. I used a new technique that I learned a few weeks ago. It's a scalloped border without sewing the curved piece the traditional way. I really had fun with it. Hope you approve Kay. It does lay flat. I must have had it pulled to tight when I pinned it on the porch rail.
Donna if your ready for it I can go ahead and mail it out to you. Let me know. Blessings! Carole |
Carole, if your talking about the turned edge scalloped border.....I don't know if I can explain a "tutorial", Can I just post a pic with directions from a magazine that I got it from??

Easy Scalloped Border directions

Carole, here is the pic of the directions that i used to make the easy scalloped border. In the cutting directions, I cut the first fabric which is the plaid, 6" and the second fabric ,the red one 6". Fold the red fabric (which will be the scallops) in half lengthwise with wrong sides together. Lay it atop the plaid and stitch the red fabric in place along the bottom and sides to hold in place, then follow the directions in the photos. I hope this helps. Jodi

Carole I forgot to mention that the black marks are what I put on the photo to show where they tacked it down. It didn't show up in the pic. It was tacked down with just a few stitches, not really a seam. I mitered the corners and the corners didn't line up so I just made up something to cover it. I think it would look better if they lined up.
