Oh...... I am completely wowed at how wonderful it looks!!! I LOVE it-nothing could have set the applique off any better. Thank you all for your fantastic additions. Nancy. P.S......I love my quilt!:D

Dragonfly Nana 02-10-2013 08:16 AM

I agree with Nancy - awesome! Love the way it took a turn toward Pink - who would have thought?

Judith1005 02-10-2013 05:00 PM

OMG Gina, this is fabulous. I love your flying geese. They look fantastic.

Wow, Yaya, the blues are just gorgeous. I like the unique turn Paula's top is taking. I am getting a very modern vibe from it. I get to work on Paula's last. I have a lot of things floating in my head. I will be watching as this one reaches the second to last round.

Here is a snapshot of it as I don't think one has been posted yet. I will "watch" it carefully and let it talk to me for a few days at least.

Dragonfly Nana 02-10-2013 06:02 PM

I have come up with a plan for Tammy's that I think she will really like.

Judith1005 02-11-2013 10:48 AM

Tammy's quilt is beautiful Paula. I loved working with the yellow and blue. I'm just sorry I wasn't adventurous enough. I didn't want it to look too busy. So I went simple. I just knew you would come up with something very special for it.

jillnjo 02-11-2013 01:02 PM

Judith, you said it the way I was thinking, too-Paula's has a modern vibe to it. I have something stirring around in my mind that should compliment what has been done. I'm seeing it in my mind's eye as somewhat modern, but not totally, either.
Paula, I can't wait to see what you are planning for Tammy! These quilts are so much prettier in real life, even though they look so nice on the computer.

Dragonfly Nana 02-11-2013 04:57 PM

Prettier in real life - I completely agree with that! I put Tammy's up on my design board and it really makes it come to life.
Judith, your addition - while you call it simple - was (IMHO) the perfect thing to do. A calming area to set off the beautiful interior work and still set the stage for the next rounds.
Now, to find the right fabrics for what I am planning......Blues and Yellows will be a nice change from the Black & White wedding quilt I am also working on.

Judith1005 02-11-2013 06:23 PM

Thank you so much Paula. I was just trying to convince myself that I did the right thing. I won't worry anymore about it. I hope you have fun with it. How is your weather? Any snow? Working on TamMoo's top will cheer you just to work with the happy yellows and calming blues. Any other color to your black and white wedding quilt?

I finished Judith's Pretty teal/red/yellow center. (Sorry the picture isn't the best-I already packed it up to mail tomorrow to Nancy!) What do you all think??

The border is called "Tipped Bricks" (I found it on quilterscache.com), and I put large HST in the corners!

Tam...Moo 02-11-2013 07:24 PM

I think your addition is great..really brings your focus back to the center!

Judith1005 02-12-2013 06:34 AM

Wow, that is a unique border. I really like the pattern. Your piecing is beautiful. Thank you. Aren't you the quick one . I think your ahead now. Lol, my flimsy is still talking to me. I have several patterns picked out for Gena's. I just need to decide on one.

Dragonfly Nana 02-12-2013 08:00 PM

Karen - that looks fabulous. I love that you used the gold and red with white polka dots fabrics too. I think they bring out the colors of the apples in the center fabric.
P.S. Judith loves polka dots

sewhappy30 02-14-2013 07:32 PM

Karen, Love your round it really draws from the center. Very creative.

Tammy, I finally got to the postoffice today so according to my confirmation you should receive it on Saturday.

Maureen 02-14-2013 08:10 PM

Nice job ladies keep us posted

jillnjo 02-15-2013 10:39 AM

Karen, I received Paula's top today and it is a real beauty! I have a new camera and will take a photo of it and post it soon. Excuse to play with the camera!:)

Dragonfly Nana 02-15-2013 11:28 AM

Oooh - I'll take that excuse - please post pictures.

Maureen 02-16-2013 06:07 AM

Very nice, great colors

blueangel 02-19-2013 05:42 AM

Love the colors. Great work.

I am finally back here with a couple of pictures. I meant to say that I had received Gina's top as I already had Paula's! I will post a picture of Gena's first so you can see what has been added to it, it is outstanding! I haven't even thought about the final round I will be adding. I say it is a FUN quilt-so bright and cheery.

This photo is Paula's quilt with the 7" round I have added. I decided to quiet it down with some darker colors after such bright movement! I hope I made a positive choice as it is a gorgeous quilt which pictures do not do justice! I can hold on to it, Judith as I know it is not near time to be sending on, but my next few weeks look busy and I wanted to have some projects finished.

jillnjo 02-20-2013 09:13 AM

The photo does nothing for the true colors! They are so bright and clear and the border print is more defined than it shows. Nancy.

Judith1005 02-20-2013 11:29 AM

Nancy, It looks great. You can send it on whenever you are ready. I love the calming effect your border gives Paula's piece. It is coming together beautifully.

jillnjo 02-20-2013 12:00 PM

Thanks, Judith and I was half asleep when it came to me that I still said the wrong name of the quilt top when I posted the picture earlier! It is yours, right? ;)-sorry I am mixing our names up so bad! I put it up on the design board this afternoon to enjoy as I sew. You sent the cutest journal along with your top!

Dragonfly Nana 02-20-2013 04:19 PM

Nancy - we knew what you meant and what's in a name anyway?
I love what you have done with my top! The green was a perfect choice to "calm" the quilt and the applique flowers are positively adorable. They bring the feeling of the center back into the top in such a fun way. Thank you so much.

yayaquilts 02-23-2013 08:36 AM

Gorgeous addition, jillnjo!!

QuilterMomma 03-11-2013 11:08 AM

WOW! This is nice. I am in the row robins. Had to peak at a few things going on around the board. You ladies are doing some fabulous work!..

Judith, I put Paula's quilt away to keep it save in my cupboard, so I have not sent it on yet. I plan to send it in a couple of days and will let you know when it goes out in the mail.
How are all the quilts coming along? I plan to teach a class on free motion quilting tomorrow at a friend's shop. My first time to teach and I will be glad to have the first class under my belt! Therefore, my mind has been busy preparing for these classes, four this month, and I haven't started on your quilt, Judith. But I have gotten compliments on it-it's lovely, I promise!
Spring seems to be peeking around the corner here, even though it is overcast more days than not. Part of living around the great lakes, these cloudy wintry days we have. I dislike it, but have lived here all my life and love most things about my home state. Paula-my paternal grandparents and family lived in Roanoke, VA, so I spent lots of summer vacations there- truly a beautiful state! My dad never lost his soft southern talk.

Quiltermomma-thanks for stopping by and for your compliments. I know about your good work as I have two swap quilts in my home from you. Nancy.

Dragonfly Nana 03-11-2013 07:16 PM

Nancy - Roanoke is truly lovely section of Virginia - very peaceful there. I am originally from the Richmond area which I do not remember being as rainy as it is here in Virginia Beach. Sometimes I think we are all going to grow mold - but at least I don't have to shovel rain!

Quiltermomma and I are in the same row robin and I have to tell you - those ladies do some lovely work too.

heather1949 03-11-2013 10:28 PM

wow beautiful.

rebeljane 03-12-2013 05:33 AM

Love your colours, the block is very pretty

Judith1005 03-13-2013 07:19 AM

Hi everyone, I have been busily working on SewHappys quilt. I am not done yet. Still trying to decide if this is the right border for it. My mom got sick last week and was in the hospital. Happy to say she is feeling better. I got a new puppy. Teddy, he is a Yorkie/Daschund mix. I am working on getting his potty trained. (He is responding very well.)
http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...0a7e4ebd8b.jpg My grandson is getting so big. My daughter says he's a very happy baby. (I can hear him laugh and giggle on the phone.) I can't wait to visit him. I just need to pick the date to go. :D
http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...95172e7268.jpg
Will check in again soon. Hope you are all staying healthy and doing well.

jillnjo 03-14-2013 11:14 AM

Sweet little man!! That pup will be keeping you on the run, too. I have sent Paula's quilt on to you today, Judith.

Judith1005 03-14-2013 12:16 PM

OK. I will let you know as soon as it arrives. I am looking to have Gena's top done by next week.

Wow Judith - he is getting big! Funny how they do that so fast.
I love your new puppy - I know I could not have resisted that face.

sewhappy30 03-15-2013 05:58 PM

Nancy love what you did to Paula's quilt it looks great it was just the right addition

I'm hoping to start on Karen's soon. So much going on right now

Judith1005 03-17-2013 04:06 PM

Nancy, Paula's top has arrived. It must have come yesterday. I didn't find it till today. Our mail person just put it on the porch and didn't leave a paper in my box telling me that is where she left it. But, thank goodness my mom saw it out there today. It is safe and sound. (We NEVER use the front porch. I just didn't think to look. :() I just want to finish up Gena's before I put it up on the design wall and figure out what I'd like to add to it. All the rounds are just so much prettier in person. :)

The puppy is keeping me on my toes. But is responding very well to paper training and going outside.

I know, my grandson is getting so big without me. I am hoping to take a trip in May to go see him. I can't wait to hug the stuffing out of him. LOL

Our weather here is still cold and very rainy. I can't wait for it to start warming up. I can't wait to get all my dogs spring groomings. They are all getting shaggy. (Hopefully soon.) I hope you all are doing well.

I have completed my round for Tammy's center and today is so pretty I was able to snap a picture outside!
I felt funny about repeating the same type of round that Karen did but it just seemed to really pull the whole thing together while highlighting the beautiful rounds before it.
Tammy - I hope you like it.

Gena, let me know when you are ready and I will ship it on to you for the final round.

Hi Paula, I think your border repeat works just right for this round. I love that you used more blues then yellows.) I'm hoping to get Gena's borders attached this week. Can't wait for you all to see what I've been working on. I have just loved working with the colors in this round. (I love blue! And brights! And white!)

Happy Easter Blue Robins. I hope your surrounded by family and friends. I hope you have a bit of sunshine to brighten your day.

This is my favorite little bunny of all!
