They are all gorgeous centers. This is so much fun and I am not even in it!

jillnjo 05-25-2013 04:39 PM

I vote the same!

Nexxus831 05-26-2013 01:35 AM

Sewbeadit,
I am with you. They are all so gorgeous and very creative. I am also not in the group.

Hi everyone, thanks for all your kind comments. We will be reaching the end of our rounds soon and there will be "More" eye candy to see. Stay tuned. lol

Today BlueRobins, I am going into the sewing room and will finish the last 5 blocks to get me to the next step. Or at least I hope so. I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather. Or at least I hope your having beautiful weather.

Yaya, TamMoo, and SewHappy, How are yall doing? Are your rounds progressing along? Have you had anything come up that you are dealing with. Any support we can give you? I was working through lack of motivation for awhile. But, I seem to have come through to the other side and am working with a vengeance. I just want DragonflyNana to love her final border and bring her flimsy to it's final conclusion.

Dragonfly Nana, how did the wedding go? Any pictures? I hope you had beautiful weather and that the wedding had minimal last minute challenges.!

Nice to see you Nancy. Your garden pictures are so beautiful. Is your garden flourishing in the near spring weather "finally"? How are your quilt teaching classes going? I so wish I lived close enough to take one of your free motion quilt classes. You do beautiful work on you SDM. (small domestic machine) I am thinking of quilting my RR top with a blend of SDM and big stitch hand quilting. Will check in later.

Dragonfly Nana 05-27-2013 08:39 AM

Hi Judy - I too am back in my quilting room today- hoping to finish my blocks too. The wedding was lovely with terrific weather - the first sunshiny day after 12 days of rain at some point in each day. The handsome groom was grinning from ear-to-ear and the bride looked stunning.
DH did great until the father/daughter dance - then the tears began. First hers, then his, then the rest of the room - as she is truly a daddy's girl.

Oh Paula, truly a stunning bride with her proud loving, daddy. Her dress is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Have fun in the sewing room today!

PolkaBabe 05-27-2013 10:53 AM

I have gone through to now & haven't gotten any sewing done on the Elvis jumpsuit. Have enjoyed seeing how this round robin is going & loving it. Look forward to the rest. Want to keep posted.

Judith1005 05-28-2013 01:05 PM

Hi Paula, I had a great couple of sew days. Had to make one more trip into Hancocks for just a bit more fabric. Your final border is almost done. I hope you like it as well as I do. (lol) Your quilt top is even more beautiful in person. I really think that everyone used only batiks. (With the exception of the white on white fabric.) I really think you will be amazed when you finally receive your top back. Hope your sew day went well.:)

Dragonfly Nana 05-28-2013 02:20 PM

I am excited to see the finished top too! I did get a lot done yesterday and hope to have finished soon - will definitely be on time, but it might be down to the wire this round.

Judith1005 05-31-2013 09:26 AM

Happy Quilting Ladies.

Paula, your quilt flimsy's journey is almost over. I mailed it off to you today. It's insured and trackable. ($400) It should be in your neck of the woods by Monday. (I hope.) I hope you love your quilt top. It is beautiful!

Have a great weekend ladies. My work week started last night and runs through Sunday. I will be thinking of each one of you.

jillnjo 05-31-2013 03:36 PM

Judith! I have your top ready to put the borders on and finish it up and SEND it home!! It is one amazing top- makes me think of a smooth creamy bowl of sherbet, with a cherry on top! I have been jealous of each top that came to me-heh, heh, they are all just fantastic and I mean that with all my heart. Can't wait to see my own! Has been a fun project together.
I'll let you know when I send it next week. Nancy.

Judith1005 05-31-2013 08:25 PM

Thanks for the update Nancy. I can't wait to see what you've added on. lol, Won't be long now. I love the way you described my quilt top. I'll have to come up with a name for my quilt with that in mind. :)

You know, I feel exactly as you do. I have loved everyone I have worked on. It has been so much fun to see what has been added on each round. Amazing how different we all are. We share a wonderful hobby. And turn out such interesting rounds.

Dragonfly Nana 06-01-2013 04:09 AM

Ooohhh Judith - I can't wait to see it! I will let you know as soon as it arrives. It looks like you will be getting your soon too!
If all goes well i will have Kelly's finished today.
This has been so much fun and I too have enjoyed working on each and every one. I look forward to posting the side-by-sides of where we started and what they have become.

jillnjo 06-03-2013 03:43 PM

Judith, I sent the top on it's way today and Wed. is the expected arrival date!

Judith1005 06-03-2013 04:47 PM

Thanks Nancy, I will let you know as soon as it arrives. I can and can't wait to see the final round. lol (I'm sure you understand.) Because the Round Robin will come to an end. :( I hope you and TamMoo and Yaya get an update soon on yours.

Ladies, My quilt top arrived today - the first to complete its journey. I sit here completely stunned and amazed.

I know we have been posting pictures as we go, but they truly do not capture the beauty of what we have created.

Sewhappy30's elegant frame, Tam...Moo's stately framed blocks, Yayaquilts' sassy chevrons, Jillnjo's playful applique, and Judith's perfect paper pieced floral finish have turned my center into a Batik Beauty.

Thank you Blue Robins for giving me such a treasure.

Dragonfly Nana 06-04-2013 02:55 PM

On a less fun note, I had to completely scrap what I was trying to do for Gena's!
I have created a new one and should have it attached this evening - just had to take time out to post my beauty.

Judith1005 06-04-2013 03:17 PM

Paula, I am so pleased that your quilt top made it back to you safely. Sorry that your initial plan didn't quite make the cut. But it sounds like you came up with a new plan right away. I can't wait to see all the finished quilt tops. It sounds like mine will be arriving soon also. I can't wit to see what the last round will be. What a fun journey.

jillnjo 06-04-2013 04:36 PM

Paula, your quilt is wonderful! and Judith put the PERFECT finish to it. It draws the center shape and style out so well. I recall that it is all batiks, too. Can't wait to see all the rest of our blue beauties.

Enjoy your beauty!!

Tam...Moo 06-04-2013 05:33 PM

Ladies, I am sorry for the delay and I do appreciate your kindness and understanding. I mailed the two tops I had to Karen today. I hope you like the borders I added. I didn't want to post pictures and spoil the surprise.

Mariah 06-04-2013 05:34 PM

I was in a round robin in our guild a few years ago, and it was such fun! I think we passed the brown bags 5 times. Have fun with it! Mariah.

Judith1005 06-04-2013 05:51 PM

Thanks Nancy, that is exactly what I was trying to do. Bring the center out to the final edge without taking away from Paula's beautiful center. I stayed with the batiks also. I think the brighter blue center is a hand dyed fabric. There are some beautiful fabrics in Paula's quilt.

I haven't seen your top in awhile. I can't wait to see it come together.

Thanks Mariah. Our quilt tops are almost at the end of their journey. You'll have to come back and see the rest as they start coming home.

nana pat 06-04-2013 07:05 PM

I am so glad the circles where brought back from the center panel. This is turning out to be a beauty.

Elisabrat 06-04-2013 11:22 PM

Dragonflynana you inspired me to peak here and well I just read 13 pages of excitement and fun and awe that everyone experienced and now I have through the eyes of a peeping brat! I love what everyone is doing/has done. Each quilt was inspiration for something totally different. I can not wait to start my own center block!

Dragonfly Nana 06-05-2013 03:59 AM

Judith the blocks in your round are exceptional and they were the perfect thing to finish my top. I am going to bind right there (after I quilt it that is) because anything I add would take away from your round.

Elisabrat - glad you stopped by to check out our fun. These are some talented ladies that I have had the privilege to get to know as we enjoy this journey.

Hi Ladies,

I just want to let you all know that I received my quilt top back today. It is absolute perfect! I LOVE it. I am grinning from ear to ear.

Paula, I love how your round brought in the gold and MY love of polka dots.

SewHappy, I love how you brought back the turquoise and framed the first two rounds. I LOVE the turquoise fabric you brought in.

TamMoo, I Love the fun squares you used. I love the solid turquoise fabric you used. How fun to bring solids in! I love it. I also love how you added in the corner squares with some fun embroidery.

YaYa, I absolutely love your Tipped Bricks border. I HAVE to try this someday. I love the bright and cheery yellow you brought in. And, I love that you also used red polka dots in a slightly different size. Can you say "squeal" with delight.

Nancy, I love how you framed the whole thing with the beautiful buttery gold yellow solid. I am starting to just LOVE solids. I love the thin center border print. So fun. Your cornerstones, are perfect. I LOVE them. Are they apples or cherries? Hm, I could call my quilt Cherries Jubilee or Apple of my eye. Any votes one way or the other? I love there tiny little stems and leaves. I am still smiling.

I cannot thank you all enough. My finished quilt top has brought a smile to my face. It is perfect. I LOVE it. You have all made this one of the best experiences of my life. And, I can't thank you enough.

I had thought to add a final border on it when it came home. But, Like Paula, I just think it looks perfect the way it is. I LOVE it and can't wait to finish it. It makes me sooo happy to just see. I love it and it is perfect!! Thank You ALL!!

Judith1005 06-05-2013 08:49 AM

Nancy, if you have a better photo that shows off the WHOLE quilt at one time, can you post. This is the best I can get.

jillnjo 06-05-2013 09:41 AM

I have a picture of the whole quilt, but it isn't really a lot different and the crazy thing is-I changed my pictures format and have to ask my friend how to set it up to be able to get them here on the board again. Will do that soon! It might make a difference to Paula-give me a few days here and I'll post it.
They are cherries! I tried to make them like the ones in your center fabric and I thought too that they so resemble apples, and I guess the size is the biggest difference and you can't define that too well.
I think the quilt has a softer look than it shows in photos? Probably just me, anyway it is lovely and I'm glad you think so, too, and that it is home at last!!

You might spoil the surprise, but it is killing me at the same time!! I will be patient-and I'm glad you are finished and hope you are on the go at full speed again. Nancy.

Andii 06-05-2013 11:05 AM

Ladies, the first two finished quilts are fabulous!

Dragonfly Nana 06-05-2013 02:16 PM

I love the way your top turned out Judith - so bright and cheery. Don't you just want to wrap it around yourself like a hug from the group?
If Nancy can post a full pic that would be better but what you did get is good too. I had to clip mine to our bird feeder and have DH hold the other side to get a full pic so I know how hard they are to get.

sewhappy30 06-05-2013 02:38 PM

Paula and Judith I love both your quilts! Sorry I've been MIA for so long. My plan is to finish Tammy's this weekend and be ready to mail on Monday. I'm trying to figure out a plan still undecided, but I will get it.

Two down Four to go.

Dragonfly Nana 06-06-2013 09:34 AM

Gena, I just gave yours to the post office!

sewbeadit 06-06-2013 01:12 PM

This is a gorgeous quilt and you should all be proud of yourselves! Wonderful.

linhawk 06-07-2013 08:04 AM

Can't wait to see the side by sides. You ladies have done a great job.

be a quilter 06-07-2013 08:14 AM

These quilts are fabulous!! It makes me want to get involved with a Round Robin but I fear I could not do such a good job as you all have. Can't wait for the side by sides!!

Dragonfly Nana 06-07-2013 02:37 PM

Be a quilter - Please take the chance and join one if you can. Most of us had/have the same fear of not being "good enough" and look what we have made! I am sure they are not perfect but they are a beautiful treasure to each of us.

That is one of the best things about this board - we accept and encourage each other at all levels!

Here's hoping the picture shows!OK! This is the full shot of Judith's quilt. Sorry it took so long to get here. Nancy.

Dragonfly Nana 06-08-2013 02:04 PM

Thanks Nancy I do love those cherries in the corners - so fun.
