Totally depends on the look you want. I think no smashing is a more modern look, framed they would look more traditional.

I would love to find the pattern you used. I just love your work.

I like the no sashing - and yes I would love the name of this pattern. P.S. I did look through all of the posts and didn't see it!

I think it would be nice to audition various sashes. My first preference would be to try the background white as a sashing so the stars really jump out. Very simple and the stars and your quilting would be the focus. I look forward to seeing what you decide to do.

If I were doing this, I would want to frame each one and make it a "star" on it's own. I'd probably have some fun with the different colors in the blocks and frame each one in a color that would bring the fabulous colors out. They are very striking, pretty blocks. Love the pattern.

They are beautiful blocks and I cant make up my mind as to sashing or no sashing. I would try laying the sashing down and see how it looks.

I totally agree with djmat Don't lose those diamonds to a sash
What a great job you have done. Very Nice |
Love the squares. I would love the pattern too!
I say either way, but I would try some different colors to see if I liked the sashing. |
Thanks so much, the star block is Maine Star and it's from a book called 50 fabulous paper-pieced stars by Carol Doak.
I'm using all my 30's scraps of fabric. off to the sewing room to get another block made. Thanks again. |

Would you just piece these blocks this way are or add a shashing to them? Thank you.
