Your block is actually very pretty and rather a challenge for a beginner. IMHO, I think you did quite well on this block and would keep making a few of these. There are lots of techniques in it to practice. Keep this block, put a date on it and in a few months you can take a look at it and see how much you have improved your piecing.

I like your block!
peace

Ditto! I've been working on this block for 3 days and I still keep cutting off my points.

This was a tough block. Lots of seams to match up but I think you did a really nice job. I like the colors/fabrics.

I think that you have done a great job for just starting out. Keep up the good work

not bad for a newbie....BTW....we've all 'been there'!

You have a beautiful stash of fabric! I've been quilting for 40 years and I still sometimes get the same result as you have with the outside corners with no idea how they got that way. For a newbie, you've done an enviable job with a difficult block.

Nice block. Keep practicing, you're doing fine.

I'm with you Polly C. I think it looks great.

Got a drawer full of "auditions"..Think you are smart to analyze your work...if we don't how do we ever get better...Do wish I had written myself notes and pinned to each.
