Thanks Judy, and welcome back.

This quilt may not make it to the chemo room; my DH was napping on the couch today and I put it on him (to replace his old raggedy flannel shirt jacket he usually uses as a blanket ... eeuch!) and he said it was really nice and cozy, so I may just let him keep it. I used flannel for the backing, which adds to the cozy factor!

They are going to love it. I like the tacking stitch in the middle of your blocks, looks good. I also like the way you quilted on the white fabric. Do you mind if I copy you on what you did on the white fabric? It's going to be the end of next month, I think before I start quilting on my.

I didn't notice the tacking stitch, what a great idea. Thanks for pointing that out Sewsew.

Here's my top. I made it a 20 9-patch top. It measures 72x87, before the black and beige borders I plan to add. Thank you Judy! I love my quilt top, and can't wait to make another on your next mystery ride.

This quilt makes me happy! I love the bright red stars!

Pam H 01-29-2013 07:20 AM

I love all the quilts that are showing up!
Mary, I will be looking for you in the crowd on sunday!
I just realized, from seeing the date, that I will be a grandma by the time of the next mystery quilt!! That shouldn't slow me down too much. At least I won't be going on any trips during the next one.
I got back last night from an 8 day trip to Florida to visit my mom. Thought I might go to the grocery store today but the schools are closed due to ice so I'd better stay home.

I finally got all of the handstitching done on the binding over the weekend. I've had this quilted for a couple of weeks but got sidetracked by a couple of other projects. This one will be a graduation gift for one of our grandsons,we have 3 graduating from HS this year. I kept the quilting pretty basic, it seems like the graduation quilts take a beating.
Thanks so much Judy for this great trip, I'm so pleased to have one of my gift quilts finished!

Every time I see a new one I get inspired! Need to get busy and finish adding the other borders to mine so I can do another one.

dhanke: Gorgeous colors. I love the dark chocolate!

SheriR 02-04-2013 08:07 PM

Wow dhanke! Beautiful!

charity-crafter 02-05-2013 03:42 AM

Love the sashing. That will work for just about everything I make. Thanks for posting the tutorial numbers. It made it much easier to find the directions.

Pam H 02-05-2013 06:02 AM

Dhanke, I love your quilt! The blue and brown were a great choice!

Scrap Quilter 02-05-2013 01:22 PM

very nice quilts

JoyjoyMarie 02-05-2013 02:50 PM

I very seldom have time to see all of a thread, but you girls have enticed me to see all your wonderful "Variations on a theme" --- there's such a great variety, and they are all lovely. I want to run downstairs and do one for myself RIGHT NOW!!

I finally finished the top but I may add a border so I won't lose the star points with a wider binding. I can't get a picture uploaded with my IPad even though I chose my picture. Oh, well.

retiredteacher09 02-19-2013 08:19 AM

Well I got the picture uploaded but it is too big. Sorry as this was my first try to put a picture in my reply. :)

cat-on-a-mac 02-19-2013 10:09 AM

not too big on my screen. Looks great! I like the fabric in your blue stars

sewsewquilter 02-19-2013 04:25 PM

Looks great!

heather1949 02-19-2013 08:04 PM

They are stunning well done.

retiredteacher09 02-20-2013 12:20 PM

I added a navy border and love it even more now. It will be donated as all of the material was from my MIL's stash or donated to a church group except from the beige with brown lines in it. That was supposed to be curtains for my kitchen years ago. :)

A special thanks to Irishrose for posting directions to upload a few weeks back.

All those quilts are beauties!

I love to use that star setting, but have never done it with 9 patches. I love the effect, especially your big one.
