2 Attachment(s)
We have had a blast on this scrappy mystery quilt. Click here if you haven't visited the thread.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/blocks-...e-t209515.html Today is the posting of the final clue, and we are going to post pictures of our quilts here, in this new thread. So, come back soon and take a look. All the quilts are so different, and all are beautiful! Here is the small quilt I made for a little girl, and the king size I made for myself. |
Great quilts!

Thank you, Judy, for conducting this train trip - I LOVE my quilt! Now just to get it quilted! I'm thinking stars in the nine patch blocks and a quarter inch echo of the stars. But, here's my top!
|
both are nicely done
|
Love the nine patch. Great job!

OK, this is absolutely beautiful and I do wish I had gotten onto the train ride. I read the first page of the instructions and wondered where the rest of the instructions would be and then I noticed that thread had 65 pages. So I am thinking that the rest of the instructions are in that thread, right ? I love this quilt and I do plan on making it. As I am looking at the bottom of the King Size quilt, I noticed you had one HST at the bottom. Was this a fluke ? Whatever, I love this quilt.

clues are post #1, #351, #634 with pictures of WIP along the way.......total fun ! |
Thank you!
You saw the first clue when you clicked on the link, then the second clue is #351 - depending on how many pages you have your thread set to, will depend on what page it is on, and the last clue was this morning. Yes, the HST was a fluke - shouldn't have been at the edge like that, I completely missed it. I throw any leftover blocks that have been cut to 4-1/2" into the box, and I used a few of them in the quilts. And I did this the "paper bag method"- reach in a grab a block!

Here is mine I made with kids fabric for Project Linus. It turned out so cute. Thank you Judy.

These are all terrific - and it's so much fun to see the variations of the quilt that you all came up with using your own unique fabric choices! Thanks for sharing the results!

Paintmejudy, I agree with "If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun." so believe that ALL quilts should have a "fluke" in them. It goes to the fact that we are ALL human and can ALL make mistakes! Beautiful quilt.

Judy, I have really enjoyed this mystery quilt. Since I have been busy with other volunteer work and my mind is going in a zillion directions on how to use this pattern, I need to get off of this laptop and go downstairs to sew!
Thanks again, to everyone who participated and especially to those board members who were able to post pictures. :) |
Love your quilt!!!

Ok, top is finished. I wanted to set it off with some dark brown and had the perfect color, which also has some light brown flowers within it. You can't see it in the pic as it looks too dark. I also thought I'd be 'artsy' and put some half square triangles on the sides, but not sure I care for the look now. Hrm. Still, I hate tearing it out.
