Since I have a little time thought I would post my scrappy log cabin and Oklahoma Twister made with that 36 inch wide fabric except for the the background color which was new.

Very pretty quilts

renee765 02-04-2010 06:14 AM

Guess I'm not awake yet. I was thinking, by the title, that I was going to see a quilt made with log cabin blocks that were tossed around every which way like they'd been through a tornado.

Back to the coffee.

Great quilts---where did you get the 36" wide fabrics? Have you been collecting for that long????

Mary
Those quilts turned out absolutely stunning and beautiful. Such great work! I love them both...if your beds feel overwhelmed I have a couple of places that would house them very well here in mine ;-)

A friend of mine, Barb, did this in two colors out in New Mexico and it is stunning...blue and white.

I'm 76 so had some, collected some (purchased) and had a lot given to me by families when their loved ones passed away and they knew I sewed a lot...that was before I started quilting and still get a few from here and there to add like I need a "hole in my head". DH thinks there is one there anyway.

WTG Granny Great Job. BTW I have started the Native American top. Got the background ready, and have the picture made into poster to use for a pattern. We'll see. I am going to have to try to get it downloaded as soon as I find my camera in all of this moving mess.,

anglgrl 02-05-2010 08:45 AM

great and awesome job they are fun to look at.

granny216 02-05-2010 08:49 AM

Thanks for all the wonderful replies. Seems like I am into a lot of color lately. Honest, use those scraps you have as they really work out well, I put any strip pieces I cut off into two separate bags...light and darks and then try to work with them. When I use the scraps I rarely pick out colors.

Beautiful quilts, our guild made Oklahoma Twister a few years ago as our Raffle quilt, i just love that pattern.
