Scrappy Pinwheel Quilt
 

Attached is my first attempt at posting a picture, so please bear with me.

I've been trying to use my gray-blue fabric stash for some time and this the the fifth quilt in the series (which didn't even seem to make a dent in my scrap bin!) Last year after a fabric swap with friends, I cut all my blue scraps into strips and squares, but even after 5 quilts it appears that there is no ends to my "blues"! The idea for this quilt was based on a quilt hanging in a coffee shop while we were traveling last summer. Although the quilt I saw was a fraction of this one's size, I thought this might be a good way to use up my scraps.

Anyway, here is the latest edition...I hope to use it for a church auction in March.

WOW! It is amazing that you have had that much fabric in the same colors. You did a great job on this quilt. My grandmother used to use patterns and use scraps. I think that takes great creativity and talent.

Very, very nice quilt - the blues just look so relaxing.

I made a quilt with this pattern. My pattern shows 3 rows of strips around the outside. I used bland fabrics in blues, greens. peach, and ivory--for the strip blocks and I used white around the pinwheels. I quilted it with a meander so it looks very old fashuioned with the bland fabric colors. I really like it and it was a fun, simple quilt to make. The pattern is in a book called "Scrap Basket Surprises" by Kim Brackett.
