OMG, QE you actually counted all the FWS block pieces. Did you include the sashings and cornerstones or just what was in the blocks? Like dublb, yes it is a spectacular quilt no many how many times we get to see it.

AuntJo, those are some gorgeous works of art. I'm glad you've been rediscovering some good forms of therapy.

I purchased it on Amazon so I could add a few Elm Creek Quilters books!

There's only one book ... The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt by Laurie Aaron Hird.

You can order it from her on her site/blog.
Some stores carry it and I know some purchased it thru Amazon, etc.

If you're interested, Laurie offers a personalization if it's ordered from her.

Or you might consider the FWS Pony Club Quilt also by Laurie ... or both! And remember, there's active followers to the threads for both of these quilts, so you're sure to have company along your journey(s).

As for scrap buster ... the only new material I purchased was the sashing, cornerstones, borders and binding. Everything else I had, including backing material which I felt was as a good of a match/blend as any I would have purchased!

So Krystyna .. order it up and start stitching! :)

Yes, I just learned about the FWS Pony Club the other day on a segmant of Sewing With Nancy. Here is a link that tells about it. I think I will start out with this book. http://www.thefarmerswifequilt.com/page04.html

Just ordered it ... and now the Pony Club makes sense! I thought everyone was making quilts with ponies on them! DUH.

A lot have included ponies in their blocks. For mine, I've kept to a a rural theme ... a mish mash of anything and everything. Sometimes the block tells me what I should use. Other times, not.

Take a look at the PC threads and you'll see the different approaches that have been taken with the fabrics.
