I made a Disappearing Pinwheel quilt this summer and had planned to just do a scrappy back which included the leftover pinwheels from outside border. So I dug into my scraps and made the backing. Didn't plan for anything to match...just making it up as I went. When I was finished, my DH said it was too pretty for a backing and I should make it into a 'real' quil;t. So since he is so wise, I made a plain back for the DP and now I have to make a backing for the 'used to be backing'. Here is what my scrappy work turned out to be. I will call it "Pinwheels in the grass".

It does look like pinwheels in the grass! You are so talented ... and your DH is so wise!!! Awesome quilt!

Wonderful "accidental" quilt!

Just see what evolves from using scraps. Amazing, your husband is indeed a wise man as others have said. I have one as well.

I really love this design. I want to see what it would look like if you grouped the diamonds by color, but still used enough fabric varieties to show off the strip lines.

Roxanne, like most of us we are our own worst critics! Take your badge off and enjoy the compliments it's beautiful!

Sandy, I love your use of leftovers and the mix and match. And especially that big border! If I tried to use a border that wide, it would be waving to you there in Idaho!

Roxanne (#2381) It came out wonderful. So okay there are boo boo's. The overall effect is amazing. He knows all the love you've put into it so it's perfect in his eyes. Just like women, we all have our imperfections and they still love us anyway.
