As you can see I'm a more controlled scrappy

I am enjoying looking at these beautiful quilts on this site, especially love the scrappies. Fits my personality! I will try to post a couple of mine, not finished. The quilting is so difficult for me. The sampler was from Brady Sparrow's Summer Star Sampler. It's a string quilt and yes... so beautiful! Why don't you contact Izy (pm) and ask her if she has any instructions posted somewhere? She may have a blog post on it or something.

Izy replied to me when I PM her when she first posted her scrappy, for help with the pattern. She wrote to me that it was her own design and that she had been flooded with requests for the pattern :0) She suggested to me, to look closely at the pictures in her post that it would be the easiest way to replicate the pattern, she went on to say, that it wasn't that difficult. <insert giggles here from me> Of course her placement of the beautiful bright colors is magic in my book, something that makes, IMO such a dramatic visually pleasing quilt.

Yes, it can be made from her photos... but not everyone is comfortable with that. I rarely use a pattern when making a quilt top-- almost never. I do get inspired by photos.

Oh Wow Susan that is the quilt! It amazes me over and over how people like yourself can remember quilt pattern sources! Now maybe I can replicate the quilt too! As I posted in a previous post I'm a pattern dependent person and so admire those like SewBizGirl who can make quilts without pattern guidance.

The way that Izy changed up her's a bit is with the side pieces to the strings making them strings also, I'm guessing here?

I know I'm not the one who posted for help finding the pattern, even though I was searching after seeing Izy's post originally.... but I want to add my THANKS to you for sending the link to Bonnie's pattern! Whoo Hoo! So simple when I can read the directions...again Izy's colors really make the quilt she shared with us and my abundant stash is not bright colors.

SoozieQ post 2739 OMGoodness your controlled scrappy Pineapple quilts are just wonderful! Not to mention the quilt inspector displays that your quilts are comfy too!

Do you use a particular Pineapple template/technique to make your blocks? I purchased the Creative Grids Pineapple Block tool, however have not stepped off the 'lily pad' to using it yet, however your quilts are giving me inspiration!
