I like the brown paisley. The brown and gold is my second choice, perhaps done in a 9 patch?
My 1st choice is brown paisley and then the triple sashing with the darker brown to the quilt. Really pretty!
I know you don't have any black blocks laid out but if the really dark color in those beautiful blocks are black you might want to see how it works with it .I love your quilt just
can't tell for sure what dark color in block is or maybe even black and brown. |
I kind of like the blue, it kind brightens up the whole quilt! I always like something that gives a quilt a little zip!
I like light blue. I'm thinking that they will make your quilt more stunning than others........
no mater what you use that quilt is wonderful
The quilt is still on the floor. Opinions still coming in and yet I can't seem to make a decision. I have not tried black yet but I think it will draw from the blocks and I am leaning towards the paisley brown or four patches in the brown or gold.
I like the darker brown (paisley) in the first picture the best, I like the contrast. It is going to be a beautiful quilt
I agree, I think the 'solid blue' is too strong for the quilt, and you notice the stones and not your quilt. Not too sure about the other ones either. I suggest a different fabric entirely, with small flecks of blue in it as well as the other colours, so that one's eye is led from one block to the other by the harmonious colour? Nice blocks to ponder over.
Have you thought of making a 9 patch with the brown and gold? I would try that with the gold in the corners to contrast with the brown on the block. There is so much action going on in the block itself that it would be a shame to draw your eyes away from it with a corner stone other than the colors of your sashing...I think that's what I would do....
but I'm not the expert quilter.... |
I like the look of the brown and gold; it is the most pleasing to the eye.
Brown and gold and I like the 9 patch idea
I agree that the blue really bring the colors out the best.
I like the paisley
I like the last picture of the brown.
Have you tried a lighter black? |
I definitely vote for the dark blue or whatever the dark color is in the quilt (black, brown, etc.) The quilt is beautiful and dark blue squares and a dark blue final border will really set it off. I even like the light blue, but dark is better. Good luck in your decision.
HUmmmmm I like the light blue, the reason being the brown looks a bit orange to me in the photo and orange and blue are opsite on the color wheel and are complementary to each other.
But I am sure you will make a good choice. The mono tone the first picture was too bland. The pasley to much and the rail fenc turned the opsite way from the long pieces took to much away fron the blocks... Just my opinion, and could be diff if seen in real... good luck with it. ConnieF will be looking for the finished top |
I love the reverse brown & gold. I think it blends well and shows off your beautiful blocks. I agree the blue detracts from the nice blocks.
I like the tone on tone grey that you didn't say anything about. It's perfect!
I like the light blue.

I like the brown but I am partial to brown anyways.. I think it adds the most contrast.

The paisley or make smaller cornerstones of the rust if you can.
I like number 4 the gold and brown stripes. They just seem to flow with the rest of the quilt :-D
brown for me too
I haven't read through all the posts yet, but I like the paisley or the dark blue. It'll be a smaller patch and will be just enough umph.
Ivote for the brown...it puts your attention on the right place
I like the boring reversed brown and gold ...
When I saw those setting stones, the thing I focused on most were the blocks ... but, with the other colors (including the rug <g>) I couldn't see the blocks for the setting stones. I haven't read the whole thread, so you may have already decided, but <g> I still like the reversed brown and gold. Those stones look like part of a plan <wave> |
Hi Frannie,
I just can't say..... I like them all! Hugs |
brown.
I like the light blue... it pops and brings out the subtle blues in the rest of the quilt. Not so boring.
I like the blue. But I think a dark, dark brown or black. This will make your blocks pop.
Go with the blue. It picks up the blue in the squares and brings everything together.
My vote goes to the blue in the second picture, it makes it all POP!!!
I like the gold and brown, it makes the squares stand out, the blue takes away from the squares
boring or not -------the brown.
I vote for the dark blue.
lite blue ......Michele
