Ok since I did not make a final decision yet on the setting stones for this quilt, will you help me decide which ones? I have pretty much ruled out the light blue. I also think the brown and gold reversed is boring. But I am curious anyway as to opinions I will get.

I like the brown.

I like the brown and gold

Your blocks are really nice. Do you have any of the main print left? It might also be good for the cornerstones. I like the brown paisley the best. The blue will stand out to much and I agree with you about the brown & gold.
I also like the brown paisley the best.
I like the dark blue, it gives the eyes a chance to roam a bit
I like the blues ones in the second picture, I think they bring out the colors best.
I like that one brown paisley the best...do you have enough to do all the cornerstones with that? Your blocks are lovely!
Brown, very nice blocks Franie!
Brown paisley!! Nice stack and whack!! Love doing those.
I like the brown paisley best.
what about making the cornerstones out of one or several of
the prints ? these look like 6" blocks ? they are beautiful. |
I like the brown and gold stones, but I would make a nine patch with a brown square in the center of the gold stripe so that the brown makes a cross and you have only 4 gold squares. That way the brown touches the gold stripe in the setting sashes.
I vote for the brown paisley!
Oops!! See the next post!

The brown did it for me. Another oops - lol. I like the color of your carpet, but did not realize it was carpet either. Duh!!!! Still, I am not pro-blue.
I love Paisleys, so it wouldn't be hard for me to decide.

Although I know you have pretty much ruled it out, I do like the light blue.
Did you try the brown that you used to frame the blocks? I think that would look nice.

Call me crazy, but I like the squares where you didn't put anything and the colour of the carpet is showing through!

I like the reversed best because it makes me look at the wonderful quilting in the blocks more.
But no matter what you choose - it will be beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Scherrie |
I like the brown paisley
I love kaleidoscopes and had not thought of that type of setting. I like the brown paisley also.
I totally agree with the "blue" votes. It makes it sparkle.
The brown matches better but the blue makes the quilt "pop" a little more. Any of your choices would work out just fine so it comes down to your quilt, your choice. It's a very pretty quilt and I don't even like brown!
brown is my pick
the blue ......blue blue
I would make them a very DEEP gold, or the nine patch like someone else suggested
I notice the blocks more with the the brown and gold reversed squares...not so much distracting the eye. I think that one looks classy.
My preference is the brown. This is a beautiful quilt.
I like the light blue, it seems to bring out the blue/gray? from the blocks...maybe a more solid light blue... Squares are beautiful...
I agree, I think the main fabric might do the trick. Hard to say though since we don't know what it looks like. That's going to be a beautiful quilt!!!

I like putting a nine patch for the setting corners when I have a striped sashing. It makes it look sort of woven.
