Sewing with a Lake view

1 Attachment(s)
This is how I spent my Friday last week - took the sewing machine onto the verandah of our fishing shack in the highlands where I had a lovely view of the lake before me. I have a fantastic day sewing and managed to get a lap quilt top done. Bring on more summery days and no wind so I can spend my Christmas / New Year vacation time in this exact same spot :)

What a beautiful and relaxing place to sew.

mommessy 11-27-2011 03:06 AM

Thanks for shiaring! It is an absolute dream setting to sew!

alices 11-27-2011 03:32 AM

How nice! Water is so relaxing, and to be able to sew and watch the water. Life is good

catladyquilts 11-27-2011 03:44 AM

that looks so relaxing, I'm afraid I would be looking at the lake more than I would be sewing. It looks so peaceful

Dulabug 11-27-2011 03:53 AM

Wow. Looks relaxing. Enjoy

Hi Lynnie, love your view!!!! I'm trying to figure out where it is though, look a little like Eucumbene but there seem to be too many trees down to the water.

jitkaau 11-27-2011 04:17 AM

What happens when you drop the sewing feet/needles etc through the grate?lol (that would be clumsy me)
I'd love to have an area like that - I sew in a closet. Hope you have many happy hours there.

Hi Lynnie,
Beautiful spot for sewing, looks like the highlands in Tassie.
happy sewing

What a wonderful view. I don't think I would ever leave the verandah! You are so lucky to have a place like that. Enjoy

mandyk 11-27-2011 05:57 AM

I'm jealous!

dunster 11-27-2011 07:53 AM

I'm green with envy. What a wonderful place to live, visit, or sew.

Evie 11-27-2011 08:21 AM

My problem with an outdoor view (from my picture window in my sewing room) is that I spend so much time admiring the outdoors I don't get much sewing done! I would love to have your lakeside sewing space!

boxerlady 11-27-2011 08:23 AM

What a view-so relaxing. I wanted a featherweight just to carry out to our back porch to sew with during pretty weather and dh got me one. Now, just waiting for good weather.

Elise1 11-27-2011 08:46 AM

What a lovely spot to sew. You are so lucky.

northern lass 11-27-2011 08:59 AM

Looks beautiful. I would never get any sewing done looking on a view like that.

HapaMom 11-27-2011 10:04 AM

Now that's how ya spend the day quilting! WOW! Hubby and I are wondering about your little dog in your Avatar, looks just like ours, an over-sized Phalene lol!

stitcherlady 11-27-2011 10:06 AM

Wow. Looks so "pieceful".

QUILTNMO 11-27-2011 10:29 AM

looks like a great place to sew

serenitybygrace 11-27-2011 11:08 AM

Wonderful place to sew. I woud love to sew in a place like that. I am afraid I would spend quite a lot of time chasing down all the stuff I would drop through the grate, scissors, ripper, thread, needles, fabric pieces.....but I'll bet you don't do that.

beatys9 11-27-2011 11:18 AM

Looks so peaceful... what a wonderful spot to sew. Outside here the wind is howling...thinking the power may go out shortly.

Woody, it's in the Central Highlands in Tas, the Great Lake area

We have a huge piece of felt that we put down over the grate so thankfully I don't lose anything precious. It is good to leave the threads to just blow away in the wind though :)

I hope to visit Australia some day. The company I work for is starting to pick-up some work down there. Looks like a great spot.
