I too have tubs but I did not purchase the great big ones. Mine are about two to four gallons in size. I have loved looking at everyone's stash organization posts and pictures so on a QB posters advice I went and got some comic book backer boards (100 for $10). I too am going to fold my fabrics around them but since they are already sorted by color I'll be able to put them right back in the tubs and put the lids back on. They are stacked under my LA quilting frame so I just have to spin around in my chair to look at the clear tubs to see what I have. Maybe just a different method of tub storage would work for you too? Just a thought.

Pack the s & p collection. you'll feel better with having your fabric more readily available....and it will look great!

Do it! I am actually looking for yard sales and news ads that might have an older cabinet I can use. I'm ready to see my fabric!

Do it and remember that you can use your 6 inch ruler to wrap your fabric around and then pull the ruler out and they will all be consistently the same size. Jan

Always got to make room for fabric. Ditch tubs

Your hutch is beautiful, but it probably is not large enough. I had the same storage problem and purchased a large metal office cabinet with doors and four deep shelves. It works great and holds everything.

I think you should buy a bigger house with lots of room for more fabric and more salt & pepper shakers.

Go for the hutch.......you can pack the S&P's in the tubs!

Looks like your fabric is creeping out od the sewing room anyway so just go for it. Those S&P are just collecting dust and are crying to go into a tub. BUT watch out the next thing you know you will have a full bedroom full of tube of things you dont have time to dust just ask me I know. LOL

What will you do as you get more fabric?
I would refold your fabric and continue using the storage bins.
I think you might be surprised at how much more organized your bins will be. I've started refolding my bin stored fabric using the ruler method.

Another question, is your hutch in the same room as your sewing center?
