Love the blue one with the scallop edge. Also the one with Thomas. Well done.

Here is the back of the Exploding Star quilt I just posted over in the Scrappy Quilts thread. At 106 inches square it was so big I had to add a 12 inch strip to the wide backing I used. I didn't want to just add a strip that would look like it was just plunked into the back so I came up with this simple piecing that I hoped would give a gentler transition from the very light backing to the very dark batik I used for the strip.

Really, Really like the one with the label in the middle. :-) It could easily be a front.

I'm not sure how i fell onto this topic which started literally years ago, but I'm sure glad I did!! May I play, too??
The first photo is the front of a wall hanging I did years ago representing a formal ball in Vienna. Purple and Orange=ball dresses; Black centers=tuxedos. The black bow ties in the corners are gentlemen having a smoke or drink out on the balconies. :o The back is the one with just small rectangles -- it represents, just for grins, the parking lot of the baroque Viennese ballroom where the "ball" on the front of the quilt was held. :D Jan in VA (color of the back photo is more accurate) |
