The butterfly and blue fabrics are Free Spirit and the oriental fabrics are Alexander Henry fabrics

Love your quilt backs! My favourites are the ones with their names appliqued on. Did you machine applique them with Wonder Under? What colour thread do you use to quilt them when you make a fancy back? Do you match the thread to the front or the back?

You can use 2 threads: one that matches the front and one that matches the backing.

I did the appliques with Lite Steam-a-Seam 2. I actually flipped them over and FMQ'd from the back side with loops/swirls/stars. I think I used an off white thread top/back on all of them.

I also stitched around the letters - blanket stitch I think.

Those are all great. I think it makes them look like double sided quilts.
