Snowmen small wall hanging

1 Attachment(s)
The guild I belong to has a fund raiser every year - members make and donate some small item -- and, ha ha, believe it or not we call it our Small Quilt Auction. Anyway, I made this for the auction, about 15" square, and until I took the picture, didn't realize I had cut the sashing strips different sizes. So I am keeping if for myself, which is fine because I loved the way it turned out. Made a different small quilt for the auction. I think it it hadn't been made to be auctioned off to quilters, I would have donated it, but you never know where the Quilt Police are lurking, ready to pounce and laughingly point out your errors!

Cute snowmen!! You do lovely work, and the candy cane fabric is great!

kensington 11-09-2012 09:29 AM

Those candies in the border look almost real. This is adorable.

LadyElisabeth 11-09-2012 09:34 AM

Oh, so cute. Glad you get to keep it. Quilters often don't keep anything for ourselves.

crafty pat 11-09-2012 09:39 AM

That is so cute you did a beautiful job.

Tartan 11-09-2012 10:02 AM

If you hadn't said the borders were different sizes, I never would have noticed it. It is beautiful and could you machine quilt a little saying in the border as if you meant to do it?

JuneBillie 11-09-2012 10:14 AM

It's so pretty, and I don't see anything unusual.

annthreecats 11-09-2012 10:18 AM

Oh, that is absolutely beautiful. The candy cane border fabric is great. Nice job.

LoisM 11-09-2012 10:29 AM

How ADORABLE! The candy cane border is perfect! I never would have noticed the "error" if you hadn't said something.

QuiltnNan 11-09-2012 10:42 AM

it's delightful... i wouldn't be able to let that one go even if it was cut correctly :)

TerryQuilter 11-09-2012 11:52 AM

If you hadn't said the sashing was cut wrong I never would have guessed. The top and bottom ones are the same size so it looks like you meant to do them that way. It's a great little quilt and I love the candy borders. Where did you get that fabric?

snownannie 11-09-2012 12:00 PM

Love it! It is so cute. I think it looks just fine.

LivelyLady 11-09-2012 12:07 PM

cleodaisy 11-09-2012 12:47 PM

I really like it. The border is "yummy". I never would have noticed any error if you hadn't said. I like it the way it is.

Everyting about this small quilt is perfect! Love the candy cane border!

lallyann 11-09-2012 12:57 PM

Beautiful! that peppermint stick candy fabric is awesome! I don't think I could've donated either, but not because you see a mistake, because is so pretty! BTW, I don't even see the mistake, but I truly understand we are our own worst critics. It will be a lovely addition to your winter decorations :)

RedGarnet222 11-09-2012 03:03 PM

I think the quilt is adorable and I am sure it would have passed the quilt police inspection because it is so dang cute!
Who makes that candy stick fabric? I want some for a santa wall hanging I need to finish up. It would be so dang perfect!

nygal 11-09-2012 03:04 PM

It's sooooo cute! I suspect you're splitting hairs on the sashing cause you can't bear to let it go!!

RedGarnet222 11-09-2012 03:16 PM

That is simply precious. I had to go back and take a serious look at your miscut borders. I think it looks perfectly fine the way you have it:)

joyce888 11-09-2012 04:56 PM

I think it's really cute and I would not be bothered at all about the borders.

Grandma Peg 11-09-2012 05:08 PM

Love the quilt. Where did you get the pattern for the embroidery? Thanks.

watson's mom 11-09-2012 08:26 PM

I would have donated it anyway, it's perfect. I have that pattern, hope mine turns out as well. Thank you for sharing.

SandyinZ4 11-09-2012 08:35 PM

What a perfect wall hanging. I think it looks great with the differeent size borders.
The snow people are chubby and the wider red sides fit right in. I think you were meant to keep this.

Pilgrim 11-09-2012 08:53 PM

I like it just as is. It's uniform top and bottom borders and side borders are the same.

owlvamp 11-09-2012 09:23 PM

It is just beautiful.

cairns 11-10-2012 04:03 AM
