My dogs have an old bed in my sun porch that has seen much better days. I decided to make them a new one. I had this old coffee table that was about to go out in the trash when I this idea....How could I use an old coffee table, a baby bed mattress, and a quilt to make a bed for my fur babies? Here's what I came up with.

What a clever idea you came up with and the quilt is beautiful. Your babies are very lucky to have you to take care of them.

kiffie2413 01-27-2012 03:43 PM

Your doggies are very lucky indeed! I would venture to "sleep" on that bed myself, due to the lovely quilt you used!!...What a great idea, too!!

That is one pampered pooch. Great idea.

jackied 01-27-2012 04:07 PM

Clever of you. Of course we have to pamper our babies. Right now mine is asleep on 'my' bed.

Pretty neat...and I love the quilt. Colors are beautiful! Lucky dog!

Mariposa 01-27-2012 04:20 PM

Very creative! Your fur baby looks quite happy! Terrific quilt too! :)

Karenjane 01-27-2012 04:24 PM

Well Sister, you've done it again. Once you get an idea, you make it happen. I know the dogs will be quite happy with their bed. You know since I don't have a dog, maybe you could quilt me one.

QUILTNMO 01-27-2012 04:35 PM

what a clever idea!!!

jenOSU 01-27-2012 04:44 PM

Haha great! Does your dog like to be higher up? I thought you were going to take the legs off, flip it over, and put the mattress in there.

CharlotteO 01-27-2012 04:49 PM

You never cease to amaze me. And only you would make a quilt for your dog. Annie has been asking about her quilt, but I keep telling her I don't speak Rott. Great, easy idea for dog bed. and great use of an old crib mattress, and a really cool quilt.

RonieM 01-27-2012 05:06 PM

What a great idea. Your furbabies are very lucky to have you for a mommy!

What a great doggie mommy you are!!! Love the quilt you made for their bed-really pretty! And the quilting on it is marvelous! Now I have a very unhappy doggie at my house-you see he is always in my lap when I am on the computer and he saw how spoiled your fur babies are..............geeeee................

A great idea, love the quilt

Sibi 01-27-2012 06:20 PM

If you put some comfy pillows on the bottom part of the table it could be a doggie bunk bed :-)

valleyquiltermo 01-27-2012 06:22 PM

Everyone tells me when they die they want to come back as one of my dogs, well when I die I want to come come back as your furbaby. Beautiful quilt for a beautiful doggie. Smart ideal on the bad, my Granny would say, "your soooo smart"
she was a deaf mute.

earthwalker 01-27-2012 06:26 PM

Cris 01-27-2012 07:24 PM

Great idea! Way to recycle!!!

Grandma Jane 01-27-2012 08:55 PM

Awful nice quilt for a doggy - very lucky doggie!

Sandee 01-27-2012 09:44 PM

I think you are supposed to give the furbabies the old quilts & save the beautiful ones for yourself--but I could be wrong...
BTW, terrific dog bed!
PS: if you don't have any old quilts for your baby, I'll trade you an old one for the one in the picture...LOL!!!!

Crazy Quiltin Robin 01-27-2012 09:51 PM

Awesome!!!!!! great idea ......I love it

sewbeadit 01-27-2012 09:54 PM

oh my, can I be your dog?

RkayD 01-27-2012 09:59 PM

that is a beautiful quilt! I told my hub about the baby mattress idea for our dogs..He didn't believe me. Makes perfect sense to me. Ours sleep in a corner of the living room close to a vent. They keep dragging their blankets over it..baby matress ~ problem solved.

Liz aka Helen 01-27-2012 10:59 PM

Woof Woof Woof, if I sit up and beg too can I get a quilt like that. Wow is beatiful.

JEL523 01-27-2012 11:07 PM

Beautiful quilt and a nice idea for your dog. Now, me, I think the quilt is too nice for a dog, but I would make something similar for my cats if I were capable! :)
