That is so pretty. I think I'd buy a table for it!
Watch the thrift stores and buy a round table. You NEED one. Gorgeous doillie. Other option, fold it in half and wear it as a shawl.
Thank you,but I'm going to put it back in the closet.
I have made two round pineapple tablecloths. On mine, the pineapples are horizontal rings. Sorry, no pic at this time. It reaches the floor on a small round table.
I really like the doilie that you made. Beautiful on the dark
wood. |
It would be nice using a size 10 hook, but i used size, now i don't remember.I made another doily for sale at a craft shop.It sits,i don't think 15 dollars was asking to much.

Beautiful doily. Crochet is my passion. I too started crocheting when I was 10- had to learn a craft in Campfire Girls, and since my mother, aunt, and grandma crocheted, that was the natural choice for me. I also love doing pineapples.

I don't know anyone who crochet's.Once in a while I'll crochet and edge around a washcloth.I'm thinking i want to learn to tat.
Would love to see your fair entries. I just finished a crocheted quilt afghan, a doily, a baby girl bubble suit, and just started another doily for our fair next month. I also lived in St. Paul and White Bear Lake 30 years ago. My daughter lives in Woodbury.

I think I was around 10 when I learned to crochet. I can't remember who taught me as my mother did not crochet. My sister learned to knit. We did not have TV.
Yup! I would buy a table so I could display that gorgeous doily! I love it!
I think after my rectangle table is cleared off i could just put it on there.
Lovely. The only crochet I can do is single and double to make squares.
What a lovely table cloth! I had an inspiration from this project. I, myself, own a white round kitchen table, and if I have this pattern for me to do in pink, it would be perfect for that table. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful work of art with us.

OMG that is beautiful. I love crocheted stuff. I do doillies myself. Haven't done one that big yet. If you ever decide to get rid or it please let me know. I would be interested in buying it from you.
Beautiful! I think I would go out looking for a round table just so I could display that lovely work!!
Oh I love it---I have a round table begging for something like that. I don't know how to crochet at all. Have always had a a passion for beautiful things like that though. It is beautiful. You did an outstanding job.

Oh No - please don't hide this gorgeous piece in the closet!! Put it on the back of a chair, or couch, or as a centepiece on a bed. I wouldn't hide this gorgeous piece away. You could also frame it and hang it on the wall.
That is real pretty. It will fit in the center of a square table. I make them for living room furniture also.

You do beautiful work, reminds me of my mother's handiwork. She used to sew a lot and make quilts every year until I was in junior high. She then started crocheting everyday as us girls took away her sewing machine and used it-she didnt need to sew anymore as we made our own clothes and purses. Her specialty was crocheted pineapple tablecloths and doilies. They were treasured by all family members who received them for wedding and birthday gifts. She used to say she would never have arthritis in her hands as it didn't have time to set in the bones with all her crocheting. I have the most beautiful large round pineapple tablecloth in storage as I too do not have a round table to display it. These are wonderful heirlooms.

that is so pretty. there is a lady online who has made a quilt with her doilies. she tacked them in blocks and the quilt turned out beautifully. i have saved a picture of it and emailed her for directions. i want to make one when i feel up to it. hopefully it won't be too much longer.
that is some beautiful work. must have taken you a while with that little thread. |
It's gorgeous! Pineapples are my favorite.
I love the doily, its beautiful, I used to crochet all the time also. A neighbor lady taught me when I was about 10 or 11. And taught me a little piano, which I still do today. Only keyboard mostly.Luckily I could play by ear. Took some lessons. Right now I'm working on counted cross-stitch stocking for great grandson, he's 18 mos. Didn't get finished for his first Christmas. Trying to quilt in between. Staying busy..
Beautiful..
That is so lovely, why don't you attach it to fabric and make a beautiful quilt with it. 15 dollars and it didn't sell? Are people crazy, what a bargain
Pretty.

It doesn't have to be a round table. it can look absolutely gorgeous anywhere you put it. It is too gorgeous not to be shown
I have a round table...I am such a sucker for doilies..have trunks of them....just can't help but love them...
It's beautiful.
I use to crochet with yarn, making afghans and a big bedspread with shams, gave them to the kids. Oldest Daughter loves to crochet and still does. I started a doily but, gave up, My Mom use to crochet doilies all the time. My oldest Sister taught me a long time ago to crochet Granny Squares. Now I just make quilts.
Your pineapple doily is beautiful, I think it could be used on a square or rectangle table also. |
That is beautiful. It should look nice on a square or rectangle table too.
I tat. It's so much fun and I use my tatting on my crazy quilts.
The doily is gorgeous. Such patience to make it.
Beautiful...I also crochet. I haven't done any in a couple years but have made my mother and mil doilies.
