This is my first Ribbon Weave quilt. I have since pieced 2 more and have 2 more in various stages for my class.

Beautiful! I have a stack and whack book and was considering this for my first whack at one (;-) )
Yours is great, maybe I can get up the courage to try...if I knew it would come out as nice as yours!

What a fun pattern!!! I love it!!! :D:D:D

Honchey 05-03-2010 07:01 PM

It's all in the fabric you choose. The orientals with alot of color and movement w/large florals are great!

Naiscoot 05-03-2010 07:01 PM

wow, that's a great looking quilt, must be a lot of cutting and piecing. Not there yet in my quilting nerve. I like the easy to understand patterns with not too much piecing, working on my qtr seam and points. New to quilting only 3 years. Get braver which each quilt I make.

Thanks for the hint.

Hi, Believe it or not this can be done by beginners.Other than the triangles and one border there is only one size strip for the blocks . 6 - 2 x 9.5 inch strips makes 1 9.5 inch block. It's all straight stitching. Prep work, layering and cutting, for this quilt shouldn't take more than 4 hours total. Anne

Hi, And yes it is from her book. It's all about the fabric. The design in the fabric has to have the right amount of background to make the other part POP. The orientals are beautiful. You can't use a samesize allover print for this. Of course, The colors are just as important. Picking out the 2 alternating fabrics is much harder to find after you get your main fabric. For this quilt I traveled to 4 different quilt shops to get the pink and gold fabric. You can't see it because it wasn't attached at the time of the photo is a muted dark avacodo green with randomly placed teeny gold dots. It brings out the green ferns in the main fabric and pulls the whole quilt together. You have no idea how happ and proud I am of this quilt.

Honchey 05-05-2010 06:15 AM

Bethany Reynolds 10th Anniversary Wickapedia is the book that has the pattern in it as well as a collection of other quilt patterns. I bought the book from Joanns. I know there is a website you can order it from but I don't know it.
It really is an easy pattern. After you've done one you want to do more. Anne
