This is a CUSTOMER QUILT that I quilted. I can't put it on the blog since her niece, who will be receiving it for her birthday, checks it out once in a while. So, I'll post it here, and in September it'll be on my blog.
She provided a flannel back. We used Quilter's Dream Puff batting (a high quality puffy polyester), So Fine thread on the top, Bottom Line on the bottom. |

Thank you all for your nice comments! And, yes, there are some quilts that I get to work on that I'd really like to do for myself. I'm actually thinking of making one of these to donate to my kid's school's alumni association. Keep in mind that I've thought that on only about a dozen quilts this year! If I could just find time to piece!! I live in Washington State, on the far western side of the US. We're about 30 miles south of Grand Coulee Dam. If you find the Columbia River on a map, start at the Canadian border. The lake formed by Grand Coulee Dam goes almost to the border. Follow that lake south to the first dam on the Columbia, and we're just south of there. I would really like to see Jeanette's face when she gets this. She comes in for lunch on Wednesdays when the ladies, including her aunt, work on charity quilts. Nice, NICE person, and her aunt's instructions to me were "Make it special because she's a special niece." Mary will probably get the quilt this coming Wednesday, but I won't get to see her face when she sees it for the first time....I have to go to a funeral that day. RATS!!!! |
Beautiful quilt! But it would not be so if it were not for your amazing quilting!!! I love the center!
Just incredible quilting! I had to study all your pic's. Wow.
Well for goodness sake ... That is gorgeous! You do absolutely beautiful work , hon.
Just a minute--I have to pick my jaw up off the floor! That is just stunning! Please tell her that if she doesn't like it, you know someone who does--actually, you probably know SEVERAL people here who would be happy to take it off your hands! Beautiful work on the piecing, but your quilting takes it into the stratosphere!
WOW! That is stunning! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful!!!!!
I always figured I wouldn't ever pay to have one quilted, but ahhh, the texture of your beautiful quilting, makes me re-think this view :D
I don't think I can say anything that isn't repetitive!!

Beautiful quilt!! The quilting really makes the difference. You do amazing quilting!!
Oh Shelly, you really "made" this quilt with your wonderful feathers! A girl after my own heart!!! I'm just curious, do you mark, use a stencil, or do you just eyeball those babies and start with the spine? I'll never be in your league, but I do love feathers and am desparetly trying to learn to quilt them.
I love it!! Great top and great quilting.
