Starstruck - my longterm project
6 Attachment(s)
I followed my hubbies wish for a quilt to cover our kingsize bed and when he saw the starstruck in the Quiltmaker magazine he persuaded me to make it.
As I am new to patchwork and quilting, itīs going to be my fifth Quilt, but the most pretentious one this will take some time. I will make the pattern twice and then will connect both with the quilt-to-go method. At the moment I have no clue how but when the time has come I hope I will find out:) I hope to be ready with the tops by end of this year, as unfortunatly I donīt have much time to sew. |
It looks like a great start!

Love your quilt, I am doing quilts for veterans and this would be a great project. Which month of Quiltmaker is this pattern from?
:)thank you all so much for your feedback, that means a lot to me. The pattern is from the Quiltmaker issue July/Aug ’10 and there is an online correction information on the quiltmaker webpage.

Excellent quilt

I'd say you're off to a great start, nice points on your stars. There are any number of tutorials on You Tube that can help you with the QAYG quilting and probably any thing else you might need. It's going to be a beautiful quilt, your DH is fortunate that you're making him this quilt.
That is so great.
this is going to be fantastic!!!!
You have a very good start! Congratulations and enjoy working on this beautiful project.
You have made an awesome beginning! I always feel the hard part is over = selecting the pattern and fabric, cutting out the pieces, and labeling everything and then to the fun part of watching it all come together.
I can't wait to see your finished quilt! |
You are doing a great job.
Looking good there.
Great start!
You are brave! Looking great, too!

Looks great. I agree that it would be great for Quilts of Valor or Wounded Warrior donatons.

I redid all the star blocks because I wasnīt satisfied that the red color bleeded into the white parts. This weekend I finally finished the 28 blocks the second time and started to bring the rows together. Still a lot of work to do but Iīm proud how far I came so far and I installed a little design wall so I can have my progress always in front of my working place. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Very nice.... I am a star nut too.... lol would love to see the quilt when you finish it.....
Looks great - it will be fine whenever you finish it! (This is from a VERY SLOW finisher - so I do know!!)
Can't wait to see the finished product! Best wishes for smooth sailing! :)
