Judging by how sales of my avatar pattern is going, I think lots of ppl are put off by the small block size I like to work with (6") - I do this because that gives a more stunning effect to the design I think. Plus, there will be Paper Piecing involved, which also puts ppl off! But if there's interest, I'll do it. :-D Here's my current thinking for the border - these twisted cabin blocks are 4" finished! But if there are ppl brave enough to declare an interest... Borders bring it up to 72 x 60 so a good sized lappy or even twin bed topper. [ATTACH=CONFIG]231920[/ATTACH] |

I posted this recently as an EQ design and thought I'd share my progress. I went with the first option of seahorses with fish as a secondary pattern and wanted to make it as a wall hanging rather than a full size quilt so decided on 6" blocks. It will be 48" x 36" without borders - I haven't decided on borders yet, will piece the middle first! Anyway, I just cut all my strips at 1 1/4" wide and 1" wide unfinished and laid them out in cutlery trays ready to go! I'm piecing the normal way rather than PP - good practice for those accurate scant 1/4" seams!
