I love the trays too! I used paper plates, stacked and numbered, it was ok but this looks like a much better way.

This is just gorgeous! The idea you have for the border really sets off the colors perfectly -- you are really talented in the selection of colors and clever in your designing...I'd LOVE to purchase your pattern. Keep us informed if you decide to sell it. I'd also love to know the names of the fabrics you selected, if you don't mind sharing that, too...one other question: is there a pattern for twisted log cabin like you mentioned using for the border? Or, would that be a part of your overall pattern for this piece?

Thank you! There are various twisted log cabin variations, with different numbers of logs and sizes and shapes of centre pieces. I've gone for a fairly simple one as the actual blocks are so small. When I produced the Fandango pattern (in my avatar), I provide all the actual Paper Piecing templates you need, already cut to size and numbered with the piecing sequence so I guess I'd do the same if I produced this.

Regarding the fabrics shown in the design, they are Hoffman batiks from the EQ fabric library. The ones I'm actually using were sent to me by a lady in the US as half yard cuts as a gift in return for a favour I did her so I have no idea what line they're from. But you can't go far wrong with Hoffman batiks in my book! :-D
