That is so cute! I inherited much fabric and one of the pieces is the same as your top piece. It is so cute but nothing I could think of the use it for. Now I am going to "borrow" this idea of yours and make into a cute quilt! Thank you so much for sharing your darling idea!

Well, I'll be..... how imaginative is that? You did a super job. Now, I know what I can do with all those vest patterns I have in my closet that I thought I'd never use. thanks so much for sharing!

aorlflood 03-22-2012 05:28 PM

judy363905 03-22-2012 06:50 PM

OK... How can you see in my fabric stash? Yes I have a couple of these and I am not sure why I purchased these and could not even guess how long ago... but I have going to see if I can find them and cut then up... thanks for reminding me I had them.

Most of us have panels like this in our stash that we've never gotten around to making the vest, jumper, etc that was intended. So this is what I did with one. Made it for quilt guild & I thought it came out really cute. Just did a large crazy quilt block then did some quilting designs on my Babylock Esante that were sewing themed.
Then I did fmq around the shapes & meandered in the open spaces with my Janome 9000
Thanks for looking.

What a great way to use those panels. I had made that jumper years ago and have forgotten about it. Wish I still had it now.

Very nicely done! I have several of those vest patterns and did use one for a backing of a small wall hanging - but love your block.

Sharonleigh 03-23-2012 03:23 AM

This is a super idea and I would never have thought of it. I have a few that I never did and it now makes me want to go check out the ones I never used and re-purpose...thanks for the idea.

anita211 03-23-2012 04:20 AM

I think I have that in a box or a bag somewhere... I could do that. I knew there had to be something to use it for! Thanks for the ideas.

What a clever lady you are - this is a spectacular way to use up those "useless" bits we own and wonder why we bought them.

What a great idea. I think I have that same vest panel somewhere in my stash from when I use to make clothes for the kids. I will have to go through my stuff and find it.

luce321 03-23-2012 03:04 PM
